DeKalb, Ill. -- For the 23rd time in school history, Eastern Michigan has claimed the MAC Men's Cross Country Championship title. The Eagles finished with a team total of 59 points. Following close behind in second place was Miami with a total of 64 points.
Akron's Marc Migliozzi took home the individual title, posting a time of 25:15.9. Buffalo's Caleb Covell crossed the finish line to second place in a time of 25:26.6, while Ohio's Josh Park followed up last year's individual title with a third place finish in a time of 25:31.3.
A pair of sophomores earned vital points for the Eagles, as Andy Payne finished in fourth place with a time of 25:35.2, while Baldvin Magnusson clocked in at 25:42.8 for seventh place. Junior Owen Day rounded out the top-10 as he crossed the line with a time of 25:49.0.
EMU Head Coach John Goodrige was named MAC Cross Country Coach of the Year following the race. Today's win marked the 14th of his caeer, which is the most in conference history.
The Eagles will go a week without competition before taking part in the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Friday, Nov. 15, in Madison, Wis.
