Central Michigan:
Chippewas Wrestlers 3rd At Black Knight Invitational

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Drew Hildebrandt won the 125-pound weight class on Sunday to lead the Central Michigan wrestling team to a third-place finish at the eight-team Black Knight Invitational. CMU finished with 107.5 points. Host Army was first with 140, followed by No. 1-ranked Penn State, 127.5. Michigan was fourth with 98.5. The Wolverines are ranked 19th and Army is ranked 24th. Twelve Chippewas placed, including heavyweight Matt Stencel, who was second. He lost, 4-0, to Michigan's Mason Parris in the title match. It marked the fifth time the two have met, and Parris has won three of those meetings, including the last two. Parris is ranked sixth nationally, while Stencel is seventh.  Full Story...

Clarion:
Wrestling Falls At Home To George Mason

CLARION, Pa. – The Clarion wrestling team opened its dual match season on Sunday, with the Golden Eagles falling in a tight contest to George Mason, 19-18, at Tippin Gym.  Clarion (0-1) and the Patriots split each of the five matches on the mat, but bonus points proved to be the difference in giving George Mason the win. Both teams picked up a win by fall on Sunday afternoon, with Greg Bulsak pinning Jeremy Seymour just 1:32 into the 197-pound bout and Josh Jones defeating Seth Koleno with 51 seconds left at 133 pounds.  That latter result, as well as a major decision by the Patriots in the 165-pound bout, led to them winning by a single point.  Full Story...

Edinboro:
Edinboro Wins Second MAC Dual over Ohio, Shuts Out Long Island in Boro Duals

EDINBORO, Pa. – The Edinboro wrestling team improved to 5-1 early in the season with a pair of wins in the Boro Duals on Saturday at McComb Fieldhouse. The Fighting Scots won their second Mid-American Conference match in their first season as a member of the MAC, defeating Ohio University 25-7. The ended the duals with a 51-0 win over an out-manned long Island program that is in its first year of division I competition.  Full Story...

George Mason:
Patriots Begin Conference Play with Big Win at Clarion

CLARION, Pa. – The Patriots wrestling team opened its dual match season with a familiar opponent but in a different conference as Mason edged the Clarion Golden Eagles, 19-18 today at Tippin Gym on Clarion's campus. The two teams met five of the last six seasons in the Eastern Wrestling League before meeting today for the first time as members of the MAC. Kent State:
Flashes Battle Oklahoma & Michigan State At Kent State Tri-Meet

KENT, OHIO-  Kent State welcomed in two power-five programs in the #29 Michigan State Spartans and #19 Oklahoma Sooners for the Kent State Tri-Meet on Saturday inside the M.A.C. Center. The Golden Flashes pulled out a pair of wins in each dual, falling to Oklahoma 29-7 and to Michigan State 36-6. In the neutral site match, Michigan State held off the Sooners 21-16. Against the Sooners, freshman Earl Blake got things rolling for the Golden Flashes. The Maryland native fought back in his match with Tommy Hoskins to force overtime. Blake then earned a takedown in the first extra frame to earn the sudden victory.  Full Story...

Missouri:
No. 12 Mizzou Wrestling Falls to Illinois at Francis Howell High School

SAINT CHARLES, Mo. – In front of a near-capacity crowd of 1,877 at Francis Howell High School, No. 12 Mizzou Wrestling lost its dual with Illinois, 19-14, Thursday night (Nov. 14). The Tigers fall to 0-2 on the season while Illinois improves to 2-1 on the year. Mizzou got wins at 141, 149, 157 and 197 pounds, including bonus-point wins at 141 and 149. However, the Illini won six of the 10 bouts and escaped with the narrow victory. It all came down to heavyweight as Mizzou trailed, 16-14, going into the evening's final bout and Rodrigo Diaz and Illinois Luke Luffman put together a spirited battle. A late takedown by Huffman, however, ended the dual as he claimed a 9-7 decision.  Full Story...

Northern Illinois:
Wrestling Splits Pair of Matches


DeKALB, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University wrestling team split a pair of matches suffering a setback in the Mid-American Conference opener to Rider before defeating Harper in Victor E. Court Sunday. Rider defeated the Huskies (2-1, 0-1), 26-6, in the first match of the day, before earning a 47-6 victory over Harper College. The Broncos opened up an 11-0 lead after winning the first three bouts, two by major decision. McCoy Kent stemmed the tide a bit after earning a 7-6 victory at 149, winning one of those scrappy battles Ludwig spoke of.  Full Story...

Huskies Score 24-10 Win Over Bucknell

DEKALB, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University wrestling team was dominant as it scored its first dual victory of the season, defeating Bucknell, 24-10, in Victor E. Court Friday. The Huskies won seven of the 10 bouts, four by two points or less, and scored a fall victory. NIU raced out to a 6-0 lead when Bryce West and Drew West each scored victories in their respective bouts. Bryce West kicked things off with a 6-1 victory over Brandon Seidman at 125. After falling behind 2-0 after the first period at 133, Drew West erupted in the second period with six points to take a 6-3 advantage over Darren Miller en route to a 7-5 victory.  Full Story...

Bobcats Earn Split at Boro Duals

EDINBORO, Pa. -- The Ohio wrestling team (1-2, 0-1 MAC) came away with a split at the Boro Duals on Saturday, Nov. 16 at McComb Fieldhouse, bouncing back from a 25-7 setback to MAC foe Edinboro (5-1, 2-0 MAC) by rolling to a 46-0 shutout of Long Island (1-8). Redshirt sophomore Alec Hagan (Eureka, Mo.) and redshirt junior Joe Terry (Pickerington, Ohio) each won both of their bouts. Full Story...

Old Dominion:
Three Monarchs Place At Wolfpack Open

RALEIGH, N.C. – Three Monarch wrestlers placed on Sunday afternoon, as the Old Dominion wrestling team wrapped up its weekend in Raleigh by competing in the Wolfpack Open. Senior Antonio Agee at 184 pounds and Sophomore Kellen Ekern at 165 pounds each secured top-five spots, placing fourth and fifth, respectively. Freshman Jacob Bullock settled into sixth place at 285 pounds while wrestling unattached. Agee was cruising through his 184-pound bracket, as he won his first three bouts by a combined 26-3 margin, including winning by technical fall over Truett-McConall's Dalton Hardeman, 16-0 in 3:10. Full Story...

Jones and Cardinale Earn Ranked Wins in Wrestling's 22-11 Loss to No. 9 NC State

RALEIGH, N.C. –The Old Dominion wrestling team (0-1) was defeated in its first dual meet of the season, falling to No. 9 NC State, 22-11. The big wins of the night for the Monarchs came from Killian Cardinale and Shane Jones, who each beat ranked opponents. At 125 pounds, Cardinale, who was named MAC Wrestler of the Week after last week's performance of defeating the No. 8 wrestler in the country in his weight class, took down another ranked opponent tonight in No. 13 Jakob Camacho. With 32 seconds left and down 5-4, Cardinale flipped the script and earned a takedown of the top-15 wrestler, keeping him down until time ran out to earn a 6-5 win by decision.  Full Story...

Wrestling Rolls To 26-6 Win at NIU

DeKALB, IL – The Rider University wrestling team continued to make statements on the mat, defeating Northern Illinois at the Huskie Duals, 26-6, on Sunday afternoon at Victor E. Court. Eight Broncs contributed individual wins for Rider, as the Broncs led throughout the dual. Rider started the match with wins at 125, 133 and 141. Jonathan Tropea earned a 9-8 decision over 2019 NCAA Qualifier Bryce West. Chris Wright and Robbie Cleary followed with major decisions to put the Broncs on top, 11-0.  Full Story...

Broncs Stun No. 6-ranked Minnesota, 21-17

MINNEAPOLIS, MN – Dean Sherry pinned the No. 6 wrestler in the nation, Devin Skatzka, as the Rider University wrestling team earned a statement dual victory tonight, upsetting the nationally-ranked No. 6 Minnesota Golden Gophers, 21-17, at Williams Arena.  Rider got off to a quick start with decisions at 125 and 133 from Jonathan Tropea and Chris Wright to take a 6-0 lead. Minnesota surged ahead with a fall from nationally-ranked No. 4 Mitch McKee at 141 and another decision from No. 9 Brayton Lee. Jesse Dellavecchia's decision over Carson Brolsma knotted the match at 9-9 through five bouts.  Full Story...
