MAC Women's Soccer Co-Offensive Players of the Week
Vital Kats, Kent State, Forward, Junior
Toronto, Ontario (Northview Heights Secondary)
Kats continued on her hot streak during Mid-American Conference played and posted three goals for the week. She scored both of Kent State's goals in a 3-2 overtime defeat to Eastern Michigan on Friday and had the equalizer in the 1-1 draw against Central Michigan on Sunday. Kats has registered a point in every MAC match this year and has scored a goal in each of the last three. During conference=only matches, Kats leads the league in goals (8) and points (20).
Anita Mancini, Toledo, Forward
Sophomore, Canfield, Ohio (Canfield)
Mancini recorded her second and third career game-winners en route to a 2-0-0 weekend for the Rockets. Friday night, in what looked to be a game that was sure to go into overtime for the second time this season for the Rockets, Mancini took the game into her own hands and took Ball State’s keeper Tristin Stuteville one-on-one at the top of the 18, beating the keeper to the right side and burying the ball into the back of the net with 8:08 left in the game. Mancini repeated her success from Friday night two days later, scoring the game-winner in the 75th minute against Miami. A perfectly placed cross from teammate Ashton Cassel went straight to the back post where Alex Troy headed it down to Mancini’s feet, and she tapped it over the goal line to win the game for the Rockets, 1-0.
MAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Adrianna Brewer, Toledo, Goalkeeper
Redshirt-freshman, Liberty Township, Ohio (Lakota West)
Brewer earned two shutouts en route to a 2-0-0 weekend for the Rockets at home. With help from her back line, Brewer and the Rockets shutout Ball State for the first time in the Glass City since 2011. The Rockets’ win over Ball State broke the Cardinals’ five-game win streak and was the first time the Cardinals has been shutout since September of this year. Brewer added her second-career shutout Sunday afternoon when the Rockets defeated Miami 1-0 at Paul Hotmer Field. The Rockets’ shutout of Miami was also the first time they had shutout the RedHawks in the Glass City since 2008 and only the ninth time overall.

Nicky Potts, Ball State, MF
Junior, Nuneaton, England (Higham Lane)
Nicky Potts scored the biggest goal of the season when she netted the game winner in Ball State's 1-0 double overtime victory at Bowling Green. The junior upped her goal total to six with the score and her point total to 14 for the season. Both are team highs for Ball State this season. Potts also now has four game-winning goals on the season, which is tied for best in the MAC. For the week, Potts managed three shots and one shot on goal for one goal and two points.
Tristin Stuteville, Ball State, Goalkeeper
Grad, Kansas City, Mo. (Platte County)
Stuteville played what might have been the best game of her career when she earned a clean sheet in a 1-0 win at league leader Bowling Green. Stuteville was under fire all afternoon, facing 27 shots by the Falcons in regulation and two overtime periods. The sixth-year player saved all eight shots on goal to give Ball State one of the most impressive wins in the MAC this season. Stuteville also added three saves against Toledo earlier in the week to give her a total of 11 for the week.
Kara Daly, Buffalo, Midfielder
Senior Orchard Park, NY (Hamburg)
Kara Daly turned in another solid performance as the Bulls won two more matches to improve to 5-3 in league play. She recorded three points with one goal and an assist on the weekend. On Friday, Daly scored on the Bulls’ second goal of a 5-0 win over Northern Illinois. On Sunday, Daly assisted on the game-winning goal in the first minute of overtime in a 2-1 win over Western Michigan. On the year, Daly now has eight points on three goals and two assists.
Hannah Callaghan, Buffalo, Midfielder
Sophomore, Rochester, NY (Wheatland-Chili)
Callaghan contributed on both sides of the field as the Bulls picked up two more wins on the weekend to extend their winning streak to four games and improve to 5-3 in the MAC. On Friday, Callaghan scored two goals, both coming on headers off of set pieces, in Buffalo’s 5-0 win over Northern Illinois. Then, on Sunday, Callaghan got an assist on the game-tying goal in the 82nd minute of UB’s 2-1 overtime win over Western Michigan. Additionally, her efforts in the defensive midfield helped the Bulls collect their fifth clean sheet of the year in the shutout win over NIU and held Western Michigan to just seven shots on the game on Sunday. She is currently tied for second on the team in goals (3) and points (8) and assists (2).
Kennedy White, Bowling Green, Forward
Freshman, Canton, Mich. (Plymouth)
White had a three-point night as the Falcons defeated Miami, 3-0, on Friday night. White scored the Falcons' second goal of the match, knocking home a rebound in the box after a BGSU free kick. Then, she had the primary assist on BG's final goal, with a nifty pass that set up a wide-open Hannah Dolfuss for a finish from the top of the 18-yard box. White now has 14 points on six goals and two assists this season. She is tied for the team lead in goals, and is deadlocked for third in points. The Falcons are now 9-5-2 overall, and BGSU leads the MAC with a 7-1-0 league record.
Audrey Shea, Bowling Green, Defender
Freshman, Upper Arlington, Ohio (Bishop Watterson)
Bowling Green freshman defender Audrey Shea was a key part of a BGSU defense that allowed just one goal in 190-plus minutes last week, for a goals-against average of just 0.47. Shea and the Falcons held Miami without a shot on goal or a corner kick over 90 minutes in BGSU’s shutout of the RedHawks. Then, two days later, the Falcons allowed just four shots on goal against Ball State. The Cardinals’ overtime goal on Sunday snapped a scoreless streak of 259:51 by the BGSU defense. Shea has played every second of each of the last nine games, including all eight MAC matches. The Falcons are 9-5-2 overall, and BGSU leads the MAC with a 7-1-0 league record.
Alivia Milesky, Ohio, Midfield
Senior, Plain City, Ohio
Senior Alivia Milesky helped lead Ohio to a crucial 2-0 weekend, helping Ohio pick up six points in the standings with three games left to play. Overall, Milesky scored one goal and had two assists for four points. She registered seven total shots with five of them on goal while playing a total of 159 minutes on the pitch. Milesky's weekend started out on Friday against CMU, where in the second minute, Milesky recorded a diving header after Olvia Sensky crossed the ball in front of the net. Milesky was just able to get her head on the ball and push it past the CMU keeper, giving Ohio an early 1-0 lead. Then in the 46th minute, Milesky fed the ball to Sarina Dirrig who gave Ohio a 2-1 lead, which the Bobcats would go on to win by. Overall, Milesky recorded one goal and one assist on four shots with three of them on goal, while playing 90 minutes. On Sunday, Milesky was active once again. With he game tied 0-0 in the 73rd minute, Milesky headed the ball back to Leckie who then drove the ball to the back of the net giving Ohio a 1-0 lead and victory on Senior Day. Overall, Milesky recorded one assist on three shots with two of them on goal in 69 minutes on the pitch.
Sydney Malha, Ohio, Goalkeeper
Junior, Nashville, Tenn.
Malham helped the Bobcats to a crucial 2-0 weekend, helping the Bobcats earn six important points in the MAC standings with just three games left to play in the regular season. Overall, Malham played all 180 minutes in goal, saving 12 shots, allowing one goal and making 11 saves. On Friday against Central Michigan, Malham was strong, allowing one goal in the 15th minute, however, after that, Malham was a brick wall, making five saves in in 90 minutes in the 2-1 victory. The on Sunday against Eastern Michigan, Malham earned her second shutout of the MAC season. Malham played all 90 minutes and making six saves - including a critical fingertip save late in the first half to keep the game scoreless.
Morgan Otteson, Western Michigan, Forward
Sophomore, Grand Rapids, Mich. (Northview)
Otteson continued her career year with two goals over the weekend. She netted her eighth of the season in the 73rd minute to push the Broncos ahead of the Zips in a 2-1 win. The goal was her fourth game-winner of the season. On Sunday she scored in the 33rd minute to put the Broncos head at Buffalo. The sophomore forward now has nine goals on the season, which is tied for the MAC lead.
