Bulls Take Down Hofstra
BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The University at Buffalo wrestling team defeated Hofstra, 25-12, in a non-conference dual at Alumni Arena on Sunday afternoon. It was the Bulls' second straight win and they have now won four of their last five duals. Kyle Akins led things off with a 3-1 decision over Dylan Ryder. Akins' second-period reversal was the difference in the match. It was Akins' fifth straight dual win. After Hofstra had to forfeit at 133, the Pride won the next two matches by decision to cut the Buffalo lead to 9-6.

Parks Posts Big Win, Chips Fall To ODU
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- A huge win for Logan Parks. Lessons learned for the Central Michigan wrestling team. Old Dominion won seven matches, three of them by major decision, in handing the Chippewas a 24-9 loss in a Mid-American Conference dual on Friday at McGuirk Arena. The Chippewas slipped to 2-3 overall, 1-1 MAC. The Monarchs are 2-2, 1-1. Parks, a CMU junior, defeated Larry Early, 4-0, in the 157-pound match. Early, a junior and an NCAA Championships qualifier last season, entered the match ranked third nationally. It was the first time the two had ever met.

Huskies Drop Decision To Monarchs
DeKALB, Ill. -- The Northern Illinois University wrestling team opened a four-match January homestand by dropping a 23-12 decision to Mid-American Conference foe Old Dominion Sunday afternoon in the NIU Convocation Center. The Huskies (2-6, 0-2 MAC) got victories in three of the final four bouts of the afternoon, but three one-point losses – at 149, 165 and 197 pounds - thwarted NIU's chance to earn the Mid-American Conference victory. Old Dominion improved to 3-2 overall, 2-1 in the MAC, with the win.

Monarchs Down NIU, 23-12
DeKALB, Ill. -- The Old Dominion (3-2, 2-1 MAC) wrestling team took down Northern Illinois (2-6, 0-2 MAC) on the road by a 23-12 final score to win back-to-back duals this weekend. ODU won six of 10 bouts, including a technical fall and a pin. Collecting his sixth bonus point win for the 2018-2019 season, No. 18 Michael McGee opened the afternoon with a 17-1 technical fall to put five points on the board for the Monarchs. The sophomore is now 4-0 in duals this season.

Monarchs Storm Past CMU, 24-9
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- Winning seven of the 10 bouts, the Old Dominion (2-2, 1-1 MAC) wrestling team dominated CMU (2-3, 1-1 MAC) on the road by a 24-9 final score. Sa’Derian Perry, Shane Jones and Seldon Wright earned bonus points for the Monarchs on Friday night. Starting off the match, Michael McGee earned a 7-4 decision over Drew Hildebrandt to put the Monarchs on top first. The Chippewas answered at 133 to tie up the dual after a close 7-6 decision over Killian Cardinale. Earning bonus points for the Monarchs, Perry put ODU back on top with a 12-3 major decision win. Making his dual debut this season at 149 pounds, Kevin Budock trailed through two periods but a takedown in the final frame earned him the 4-3 win over Dresden Simon.
