Central Michigan:
Chippewas Fall To Ohio


MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan won five matches on Sunday, but a Chippewa forfeit at 125 pounds and a major decision for Ohio at 141 was the difference as the Bobcats topped CMU, 19-15, in a Mid-American Conference dual at McGuirk Arena. The loss dropped CMU to 3-6, 2-3 MAC. Ohio is 5-4, 3-1. The Chippewas got decision victories from Brock Bergelin (133), Collin Lieber (174), Jordan Atienza (184), Landon Pelham (197) and Matt Stencel (285). Full Story...

Kent State:
Late Heroics Lift Flashes Past Vikings


CLEVELAND, Ohio – A wild night at Woodling Gym ended with a pin by Spencer Berthold to give Kent State a 23-20 road victory over Cleveland State.  The redshirt freshman heavyweight helped the Golden Flashes overcome a 20-9 deficit heading into the final three matches. The host Vikings recorded three pins of their own, while winning four consecutive matches from 149 to 174. The Flashes run of three straight wins to end the night began with a 25-10 technical fall victory from sophomore Andrew McNally (184).  Full Story...

Huskies Split At Michigan State

EAST LANSING, Mich. – The Northern Illinois University wrestling team split a pair of matches at Michigan State Saturday afternoon. NIU (6-9, 1-2) defeated Bloomsburg, 33-6, before falling to Michigan State, 27-9. Three Huskies - Kenny Moore (San Diego, Calif./Hoover), Brit Wilson (Mexico, Mo./Mexico) and McCoy Kent (Modesto, Calif./Enochs) - each went 2-0 on the day.  Full Story...

Bobcats Win Third Straight


MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- The Ohio wrestling team (5-4, 3-1 MAC) won five of its first six bouts on its way to a 19-15 victory over Mid-American Conference rival Central Michigan (3-6, 2-3 MAC) today at McGuirk Arena. The Bobcats earned their third-straight conference dual win with the victory over the Chippewas. The match began at 125 pounds, with redshirt junior Shakur Laney (Canal Winchester, Ohio) winning by forfeit. Full Story...
