Bulls Close Road Trip With Win At Kent State
KENT, Ohio – The University at Buffalo wrestling team won seven matches on Saturday afternoon as the Bulls won their second straight match with a 28-13 victory at Kent State. Redshirt senior Kyle Akins got the afternoon started with a 10-2 major decision at 125 lbs and then Derek Spann followed it up with an 8-4 victory at 133. Redshirt senior Bryan Lantry also recorded a major decision, coming away with a shutout at 141, 8-0, staking the Bulls to an early 11-0 lead.

Central Michigan:
Chippewas Come Up Short Against North Dakota State
MT. PLEASANT, Mich. – A forfeit and a loss at the buzzer proved too much for the Central Michigan wrestling team to overcome on Thursday as the Chippewas dropped a nonconference dual to North Dakota State, 23-15, at McGuirk Arena. The Chippewas slipped to 3-5. The Bison are 7-5. The Chippewas got victories from Drew Marten (141 pounds), Dresden Simon (149), Jordan Atienza (184) and Matt Stencel (285), but gave up six points at 125 where they forfeited because of a medical issue.

Kent State:
Flashes Fall To Buffalo, 28-13
KENT, Ohio – Sophomore Kade Byland (174) made the most of his Mid-American Conference debut, but Kent State dropped its dual meet with Buffalo 28-13 Saturday afternoon at the M.A.C. Center. Byland, Andrew McNally (184) and Kody Komara (149) all earned victories for the Golden Flashes. An admittedly nervous Byland, found himself down 2-0 early in the first period against Jake Lanning. But an all-or-nothing move coming out of the bottom position paid off and planted Lanning onto his back. A pin at the 1:12 mark gave Byland his first career conference win and his first victory at the M.A.C. Center. Just days earlier, he got word from Head Coach Jim Andrassy that he'd be filling in for an injured Dylan Barreiro.

Missouri:
Tigers Roll 40-6 Over Huskies
DEKALB, Ill. – Fifth-ranked Mizzou Wrestling rounded out MAC competition with a perfect 7-0 record after downing Northern Illinois, 40-6, Friday evening at the Duke Ellington Ballroom at NIU's Holmes Student Center. Mizzou improved its winning streak to 34 consecutive duals, including an unblemished 14-0 in 2018-19. Dating back to 2014, Mizzou has won 71 of its last 72 duals. The Tigers finish the 2018-19 slate with a perfect mark in MAC action, marking the fourth time in seven seasons in the league that the Tigers have done so.

Huskies Drop Close Match To Ohio
DeKALB, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University wrestling team was edged by Ohio, 21-18, in a Mid-American Conference showdown at the Convocation Center Sunday. The Huskies (5-8, 1-4) raced out to an 18-6 lead, winning four of the first six matches. However, Ohio stormed back in the final four bouts to take the match.

Huskies Fall To Missouri
DEKALB, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University wrestling team suffered a 40-6 setback to No. 8 Missouri at the Duke Ellington Ballroom Friday night. Alijah Jeffery (Marion, Iowa/Linn Mar) provided the lone highlight for the Huskies (5-7, 1-3) on the night. With NIU trailing, 3-0 after a loss in the first match of the night, the Huskie senior posted a second period pin fall win over Cameron Valdiviez.

Bobcats Rebound For Win At NIU
DEKALB, Ill. -- The Ohio wrestling team (4-4, 2-1 MAC) erased a 12-point deficit by winning the final four bouts for a thrilling 21-18 road victory over Mid-American Conference foe Northern Illinois (5-8, 1-4 MAC) today at NIU'S Convocation Center. The Huskies led the Bobcats, 18-6, through the first six weight classes, with redshirt sophomore Kenny Moore winning in a 7-1 sudden victory at 165 pounds, redshirt freshman Brit Wilson coming away with a pin in 2:04 at 165, redshirt freshman Will Feldkamp winning by fall in 49 seconds at 184 and redshirt junior Caleb Gossett winning by a 6-4 decision at 285.

Monarchs Defeat Duke In A Thriller
NORFOLK, Va. – Ali Wahab earned a 9-0 major decision at heavyweight to secure the team win for ODU (7-5, 4-2 MAC) as they defeated Duke (2-4, 0-1 ACC) by a 24-17 score on Alumni Day. The Monarchs notched their second-straight team victory on Sunday. To open the dual, Duke forfeited back-to-back weights at 125 and 133 pounds, which made the score 12-0 in favor of ODU. No. 10 Sa'Derian Perry took the mat first for ODU, where he downed Josh Finesilver by an 8-3 decision. After the 141-pound bout, ODU led 15-0.

Monarchs Roll Past SIUE
NORFOLK, Va. – Michael McGee, Trevon Majette and Tim Young all earned pins for the Monarchs on Friday night, where the Old Dominion (6-5, 4-2 MAC) wrestling team defeated SIUE (1-10, 1-5 MAC) 28-13 in a MAC dual. Opening the dual with bonus points, No. 18 McGee pinned his opponent in the third period to put six points on the board for ODU. The sophomore remains undefeated in duals with a 10-0 mark and one win away from 50 career wins. Majette made his dual debut at 133 pounds, where he earned six more points for the Monarchs with a pin in the first period.

Cougars Fall at Old Dominion
NORFOLK, Va. - SIUE collected four match victories, including three straight at one point Friday, but the Cougars were defeated 28-13 in Mid-American wrestling action at the Ted Constant Center. The Cougars, 1-10 overall and 1-5 in the MAC, continue to show their strength at the middle weights with wins from Tyshawn Williams, No. 25-ranked Justin Ruffin and Nate Higgins. Sergio Villalobos added a 7-3 victory at 184 pounds over Old Dominion's Dean Drugac.
