Zips Sweep St. Bonaventure and Niagara, 6-1
OLEAN, N.Y. – The University of Akron women’s tennis team claimed two road wins on Friday. Akron (4-0 overall) defeated St. Bonaventure (0-3 overall), 6-1 in morning action. In the afternoon, UA beat Niagara (0-2 overall), 6-1, at SBU’s Fitness Center. Against the Bonnies, the Zips swept all three doubles match to earn the team point. At No. 1, junior captain Rita Pedroso and sophomore Miruna Vasilescu defeated Penelope Abreu and Andrea Roque, 6-3.

Ball State:
Women's Tennis Closes Weekend With 4-3 Win
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Ball State women's tennis team (2-1) closed its two-match road competition with a 4-3 win over Northern Kentucky (1-2) this afternoon at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center located on the campus of Louisville. The Cardinals came out of the gates strong in doubles play earning 6-1 victories on courts two and three. Victoria Sec alongside teammate Sarah Swiderski clinched the point for Ball State at the No. 2 position.

Cardinals Fall At Louisville
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Senior Peyton Gollhofer highlighted today's match with a straight set victory in singles play at Louisville. Unfortunately, it wasn't enought for the Cardinals as Ball State fell to Louisville by a score of 6-1 at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center. Louisville took the early 1-0 lead over BSU after winning on courts one and three in doubles action. The Ball State doubles tandem of Victoria Sec and Sarah Swiderski pulled through for a victory though upsetting Louisville's No. 2 twosome of Dina Chaika and Nikolina Jovi, 6-3.

Miami:
Women's Tennis Tops Boston University
BOSTON, Mass. - The Miami University women's tennis team (1-3) picked up its first win of the season Saturday against Boston University (0-1), bouncing back from a dropped doubles point to dominate the singles session and take the match 5-2. The 'Hawks found themselves in an early hole as the Terriers were able to sweep through the doubles session. Miami and coach Ricardo Rosas set out a different doubles look for the match, sliding the pairing of Milana Lysova and Priyana Kalita up to the first court and rounding out the lineup with pairings of Emily Struble and Brindtha Ramasamy at second doubles and Melati Devi and Makenzie Myers at third.

RedHawks Drop Decision At Harvard
BOSTON, Mass. -- Despite reigning MAC Player of the Week Brindtha Ramasamy earning another big win at first singles, the Miami University women's tennis team couldn't overcome Harvard Friday, dropping the match 6-1. The RedHawks slip to 0-3 in 2019, while the Crimson now sit at 2-0. Starting off with the doubles section, the 'Hawks were able to earn a win as the tandem of Emily Struble and Melati Devi defeated Anna Li/Rachel Eason 6-4. However, the Crimson were still able to snag the opening point as they picked up victories on the first and second court.

Huskies Fall At Marquette
MILWAUKEE – The Northern Illinois University women's team suffered a 7-0 setback to Marquette at the Helfaer Tennis & Recreation Center Saturday. The Huskies (1-1), who posted a solid 4-3 win over Milwaukee on Friday night, were unable to keep pace with the Golden Eagles. However, NIU head coach Tanya Mahefu was pleased with her team's performance on the weekend.

Huskies Score Victory At Milwaukee
MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- The Northern Illinois University women's team scored a 4-3 victory over Milwaukee at the River Glen Elite Friday. After dropping the doubles point, the Huskies (1-0) went on to win four of the six singles matches. Milwaukee won the first two of the first three matches of the day, taking Nos. 4 and 6 singles. Freshman Christy Robinson gave the Huskies their first win of the day, defeating Anna Daniel Fuentes in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3.

Western Michigan:
Broncos Sweep IUPUI and Chicago State
KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Western Michigan women's tennis team swept its double-header inside West Hills Athletic Club on Saturday, Jan. 26, defeating IUPUI and Chicago State 7-0. With the wins, the Broncos move to 4-1 on the season and stay undefeated at home. The 4-1 start to the dual-match schedule is the best start to a spring slate since the 2016 Broncos also began its spring campaign 4-1.
