Akron:
Zips Open With Two Wins


AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron women's tennis team opened the spring portion of its schedule with a 6-1 win over Oakland and a 5-2 victory over Chicago State on Friday at the LaTuchie Tennis Center in Stow. Akron stands 2-0 overall. In doubles action, Oakland (0-2 overall) claimed the team point.  Akron's only win came at No. 2 as redshirt senior captain Sophia Geier (Burgebrach, Germany) and sophomore Anna Uljanov (Schweinfurt, Germany) swept Alexandra Whall and Amanda Nilsson, 6-0. Full Story...
 
Ball State:
Cardinals Sweep Dayton In Opener


MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State women's tennis team opened spring action with a dominating 7-0 victory over Dayton Monday afternoon in the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center. The Cardinals started the day off strong after taking the doubles point in a matter of 30 minutes over the Flyers. On court two, Victoria Sec alongside partner Sarah Swiderski only gave up a game to Anna Delaney and Kelly Pleiman, winning their match by a score of 6-1. The No. 1 twosome of Audrey Berger and Rebecca Herrington clinched the doubles point for Ball State with their 6-2 defeat over Dayton's Mattea Kilstofte and Natalie Allen. Full Story...

Bowling Green:
Falcons Come Up Short In South Bend


SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Bowling Green State University tennis program was back in action on Wednesday, Jan. 23 against the University of Notre Dame, but fell short. The Falcons put up a strong fight, but were unable to capture a point, with the Fighting Irish winning 7-0. The loss brings the Falcons record to 1-2 on the young season.  Full Story...

Women's Tennis Falls To Louisville

LOUISVILLE, KY. – The Bowling Green State University tennis program lost to the University of Louisville by a score of 5-2 on Sunday, Jan. 20. The loss brings the Falcons record to 1-1 on the season after sweeping Bellarmine University on Saturday, Jan. 19. The Falcons were led by Paula Comella and Vanesa Pardo in singles with Polina Radeva and Ayumi Sasaki working for a win in doubles. Full Story...

Falcons Open With A Sweep

LOUISVILLE, KY. – The Bowling Green State University tennis program opened their spring campaign with a 7-0 sweep over Bellarmine University. The win will give the Falcons a 1-0 start to the season, while Bellarmine will remain 0-0, as the match served as a exhibition for the Knights. This is the first time BGSU has opened the spring with a sweep since 1996 when Bowling Green bested Butler 9-0. Full Story...

Miami:
RedHawks Fall To Louisville, 6-1


LOUISVILLE, Ky. - A huge win from Miami freshman Brindtha Ramasamy at first singles wasn't enough as the RedHawks fell to the Louisville Cardinals Sunday evening at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center. Miami falls to 0-2 on the young season while the Cardinals improve to 2-0. Miami put out the same doubles teams as Friday's match against Kentucky, but despite close contests from the teams of Lysova/Kalita and Struble/Devi, the Cardinals would sweep the doubles session and claim the match's first point. Full Story...

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky Wildcats proved to be too much for the Miami University women's tennis team as it opened its season against the Southeastern Conference foe Friday. Kentucky took the 7-0 victory, marking the second straight season that the RedHawks fell to the Wildcats on opening day. Miami drops to 0-1 on the young season, while UK improves to 3-0.  Full Story...

Rockets Sweep Valparaiso


Toledo, Ohio – The University of Toledo women's tennis team trampled Valparaiso on Sunday, sweeping the Crusaders by a score of 7-0. The Rockets started off by securing the doubles point with junior Dee Dee Leenabanchong/freshman Kiersten Carlson defeating their opponents 6-2, while senior duo Thalita Rodrigues/Kokoro Chishaki defeated their opponents 6-3.  Full Story...

Women's Tennis Defeats DePaul For First Time Since 2007

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Western Michigan women's tennis team bounced back from a tough loss at Notre Dame, winning 6-1 over DePaul University on Sunday, Jan. 20 inside West Hills Athletic Club.The victory marks the first over DePaul in over a decade and snaps a six-game losing skid in the all-time series, with the last Bronco victory over the Blue Demons dating back to Feb. 16, 2007 in Chicago, Ill. Full Story...

Broncos Drop Road Match At Notre Dame
 
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Western Michigan women's tennis team was swept by the University of Notre Dame 7-0 on Friday, Jan. 18, dropping to 1-1 overall on the season. The Fighting Irish squad featured two doubles pairs in the ITA Top 60 National Doubles Rankings, with Ally Bojczuk & Bess Waldram coming in at No. 29, followed by the duo of Cameron Corse and Zoe Spence ranked at No. 44. Full Story...
