Akron:
Zips Win At NIU, 6-1

DeKALB, Ill. – The University of Akron women's tennis team won its third Mid-American Conference match on Saturday evening with a 6-1 victory at Northern Illinois (5-15 overall, 0-6 MAC) at the Boylan Tennis Center. The Zips (14-10 overall, 3-3 MAC) claimed the doubles point with wins at the No. 2 and 3 spots. Full Story...

Women's Tennis Claims 4-3 Win

AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron women's tennis team claimed its second win in Mid-American Conference play on Friday afternoon with a thrilling 4-3 victory over Western Michigan at the LaTuchie Tennis Center, handing the Broncos (11-8 overall, 2-1 MAC) their first lost in MAC play. The Zips (13-10 overall, 2-3 MAC) claimed the doubles point with wins at the No. 2 and 3 spots. At No. 2, senior captain Carli Knezevich (Austin, Texas) and freshman Miruna Vasilescu (Ulm, Germany) defeated Denise Azcui and Jeryn Jack, 6-4. Full Story...

Ball State:
Women's Tennis Suffers 5-2 Loss

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State women's tennis team (8-9, 0-4 MAC) suffered a 5-2 loss to Toledo (13-5, 3-2 MAC) in Mid-American Conference action Sunday afternoon at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center. The Cardinals took the quick lead in doubles after Victoria Sec and Peyton Gollhofer defeated the Rockets Megan Miller and Thalita Rodrgues (6-2) on court three.  Toledo then managed to take the doubles point after earning victories on courts two and one in that order. Full Story...

Cardinals Dominate Northern Iowa, 7-0

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State women's tennis team won in dominating fashion by a score of 7-0 Friday afternoon against the University of Northern Iowa at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center.  With the win, the Cardinals improved to 8-8 overall while the Panthers fall to 3-9 for the year. Ball State came out strong to start the match after sweeping doubles play against Northern Iowa. Women's Tennis Falls At Toledo

MAUMEE, Ohio – In the road Battle of I-75, the Bowling Green tennis was able to earn a pair of points with wins by juniors Paula Comella and Polina Radeva, although the Falcons (11-7, 3-2 MAC) dropped a 5-2 decision to Mid-American Conference rival Toledo (12-5, 2-2 MAC) on Friday afternoon. Full Story...

Buffalo:
Bulls Win 10th Straight

WILLIAMSVILLE, NY – The University at Buffalo women's tennis team won their 10th straight match on Sunday afternoon with an impressive 6-1 victory over Western Michigan.  The Bulls improve to 13-3 on the year and 6-0 in MAC, the only unbeaten team in the league. The Bulls won a tight doubles point to open the afternoon. Senior Tanja Stojanovska and sophomore Anna Savchenko won easily at two, 6-2, before Western Michigan came back with a 6-4 win at three.  At first doubles, junior Chantal Martinez Blanco and senior Lolade Ogungbesanovercame a 3-0 deficit to win 7-5, giving the Bulls the early 1-0 lead. Full Story...

Bulls Continue To Roll With 6-1 Win

WILLIAMSVILLE, NY – The University at Buffalo women's tennis team won their ninth straight match on Friday afternoon as the Bulls defeated Northern Illinois 6-1 at the Miller Tennis Center. Eagles Fall To Bowling Green, 4-3

PERRYSBURG, Ohio – The Eastern Michigan University women's tennis team could not complete its comeback attempt against Mid-American Conference foe Bowling Green State University Sunday, April 8, falling 4-3 at the Perrysburg Tennis Center. As has been the trouble for EMU all season, it was unable to secure the doubles point and fell in an early 0-1 hole. RedHawks Grab Another MAC Win

HAMILTON, Ohio – The Miami University women’s tennis team followed a familiar pattern in their win over Eastern Michigan Friday: take the doubles point, then pull out the close singles matches when you need them most. This was how the RedHawks took their last conference match, a win over Akron, and they did it again against the Eagles to win 5-2. BUFFALO – The Northern Illinois University women's tennis team suffered a 6-1 defeat at the hands of Mid-American Conference foe Buffalo Friday afternoon. Brodie Walker extended her winning streak to five matches as the Huskie (5-14, 0-5) sophomore stepped up a seed. Walker defeated Emel Abibula in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4. Evelyn Youel battled at No. 5 singles, but fell, 6-4, 6-3, to Sanja Sudhir at No. 5 singles. Full Story...

Rockets Sweep Weekend With 5-2 Win

Muncie, Ind - The Toledo women's tennis team (13-5, 3-2 MAC) earned its second win of the weekend after winning, 5-2, over Mid-American Conference opponent Ball State (8-9, 0-4 MAC) today. Toledo's victory was full of mid-match rallies and featured two tiebreaks. The Rockets started the day by claiming the doubles point. After UT loss in the No. 3 spot, the duo of senior Colleen O'Brien/sophomore Dee Dee Leenabanchong combined in the No. 2 spot to earn their 14th-straight doubles-match victory, defeating their opponents 6-3. Full Story...

Toledo, Ohio - The Toledo women's tennis team (12-5, 2-2 MAC) won 5-2 over Bowling Green (11-7, 3-2 MAC) today in the annual Battle of I-75 match.  The Rockets swept the doubles point and three singles matches on the day. The match was full of energy from the beginning. Doubles competition opened with senior Sidnay Huck and junior Kokoro Chishaki winning 6-0 in the No. 1 spot. WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. – The Western Michigan women's tennis team dropped its second straight match on Sunday afternoon to the hands of the Buffalo Bulls, the 2017 Mid-American Conference Tournament champions, with a final score of 6-1. Broncos Fall At Akron

AKRON, Ohio – With the decision coming down to the final singles match, the Western Michigan women's tennis team dropped a 4-3 nail-biter on the road Friday afternoon inside the LaTuchie Tennis Center to the Akron Zips. The loss is the first of the Mid-American Conference season for the Broncos as they are now 11-8 overall and 2-1 in league play. The Broncos started the day winning No. 1 doubles as Barbare Eristavi and Gabriela Slovova picked up their second win together after defeating Pedroso/Uljanov 6-0 but Akron responded and clinched the doubles point with wins at three and two, in that order. Full Story...
