Akron:
Women's Tennis Picks Up Win Over Toledo

AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron women's tennis team picked up its first Mid-American Conference win with a 5-2 victory over Toledo on Sunday afternoon at the LaTuchie Tennis Center. The Zips (12-7 overall, 1-1 MAC) claimed the doubles point against the Rockets (10-5, 0-2 MAC).  At No. 1 doubles, sophomore Rita Pedroso (Porto, Portugal) and freshman Anna Uljanov (Schweinfurt, Germany) defeated Sidnay Huck and Kokoro Chishaki, 6-2. Full Story...

Zips Drop MAC Opener At EMU

YPSILANTI, Mich. – The University of Akron women's tennis team dropped a nail-biter in the Mid-American Conference opener with a 4-3 loss at Eastern Michigan on Friday afternoon at the Wasik Tennis Complex. The Zips (11-7 overall, 0-1 MAC) claimed the doubles point against the Eagles (11-3, 1-0 MAC).  At No. 2 doubles, junior Luisa Echeverry (Cali, Colombia) and freshman Miruna Vasilescu (Ulm, Germany) defeated Andrea Martinovska and Anna Veleva, 6-4. Full Story...

Ball State:
Women's Tennis Suffers 4-3 Loss To Falcons

PERRYSBURG, Ohio - The Ball State women's tennis team (7-7, 0-2 MAC) dropped a heartbreaking 4-3 loss at Bowling Green (10-5. 2-0 MAC) Sunday afternoon in Mid-American Conference action. The Cardinals got off to a strong start by taking the doubles point from the Falcons.  Peyton Gollhofer and Victoria Sec paired up on court three for a 6-1 take down over Marta Bettinelli and Vanesa Pardo.  Full Story...

Cardinals Lose To Miami, 6-1

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State women's tennis  team dropped its first Mid-American Conference match of the season after the Cardinals fell 6-1 to Miami Friday afternoon in the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center. With the loss, the Cardinal fall to 7-6 overall and 0-1 in league play while Miami improves to 5-7 on the year and 1-0 in MAC action.  Full Story...

Bowling Green:
Women's Tennis Tops Ball State, 4-3

PERRYSBURG, Ohio – In a marathon of a match, the Bowling Green tennis program (10-5, 2-0 MAC) defended its unbeaten streak at home when it was able to down Ball State (7-7, 0-2 MAC) by a 4-3 score on Sunday afternoon. The Falcons extended its win streak to a season-best of four straight as it earned one doubles win and four singles victories over the defending MAC Regular Season Champions, and first win over the Cardinals since 2013. With the victory, Bowling Green remains undefeated at home this season with a 6-0 record at the Perrysburg Tennis Center, and will return back for two more matches next weekend against Akron and Buffalo for continued conference competition. Full Story...

Falcons Clip NIU, 6-1

ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Bowling Green tennis program (9-5, 1-0 MAC) opened Mid-American Conference play on Friday afternoon when it faced Northern Illinois (5-10, 0-1 MAC) on the road. The Falcons earned its third straight victory with a 6-1 win over the Huskies by two doubles and five singles wins on the day. Full Story...

Women's Tennis Snaps EMU's Nine Match Win Streak

YPSILANTI, MI – The University at Buffalo women's tennis team won their sixth straight match and ended Eastern Michigan's nine-match winning streak with a hard-fought 4-3 road win on Sunday afternoon.  Buffalo improves to 9-3 with the win and 2-0 in MAC play. UB took the doubles point, which turned out to decide the match since the two teams split the six singles matches.  Full Story...

Bulls Top Toledo For Fifth Straight Victory

WILLIAMSVILLE, NY – The University at Buffalo women's tennis team won their fifth straight match on Friday afternoon as the Bulls opened Mid-American Conference play with a 5-2 win over Toledo.  The Rockets came into the match winners of nine of their last 10 matches.  The Bulls improve to 8-3 on the season with the win. Full Story...

Women's Tennis Splits Sunday Matches

YPSILANTI, Mich. – The Eastern Michigan University tennis team split a tough Sunday double header against the University at Buffalo and Wayne State University, falling to the Bulls in a tight 4-3 match at the Chippewa Racquet Club, while prevailing over the Warriors 4-1 at the University of Michigan's Varsity Tennis Center. Even with the freshman duo of Natalia Regalado (Alicante, Spain-IES Figueras Pacheco) and Giuliana Ansaloni (Bergamo, Italy-Centro Studi Leonardo Da Vinci) cruising to a 6-1 victory at No. 3, Buffalo snagged the doubles point by taking the other two spots.  Full Story...

Eagles Rally To Top Akron, 4-3

YPSILANTI, Mich. – The Eastern Michigan University tennis team mounted an epic comeback for its first win in Mid-American Conference play of the 2018 season, downing the University of Akron 4-3 at the Chippewa Racquet Club. Freshman Natalia Regalado (Alicante, Spain-IES Figueras Pacheco) came up with a clutch win at No. 5 singles to clinch the match for EMU. With the score tied, the rookie battled to a 6-2, 5-7, 6-4 victory and helped the Eagles to their ninth win in a row. Full Story...

Women's Tennis Powers Past Huskies

DEKALB, Ill. -- The Miami University women's tennis team put an exclamation point on the opening weekend of Mid-American Conference play Sunday with a big 6-1 win over Northern Illinois. The `Hawks improve to 6-7 on the season and are 2-0 in the MAC. For the second straight match, the doubles point belonged to the Red and White. Senior duo Nelli Ponomareva and Anastasiia Vasiukhina combined to win at first singles, while junior Emily Struble and freshman Melati Devi won on the third court to seal the early 1-0 advantage. Full Story...

RedHawks Open MAC Play With 6-1 Win

MUNCIE, Ind. – A three-week break from competitive play did not seem to be a hindrance for the Miami University tennis team Friday as it began the Mid-American Conference season with win. In a rematch of last year’s MAC Tournament semifinals, the RedHawks took down Ball State by a score of 6-1. Women's Tennis Falls To Bowling Green

ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University women's tennis team fell to Bowling Green, 6-1, in the Mid-American Conference opener at the Boylan Tennis Center Friday. The loss to the Falcons was the first at home for NIU (5-10, 0-1). Rockets Fall To Buffalo

BUFFALO, N.Y. - The Toledo women's tennis team (10-4, 0-1 MAC) fell 5-2 on the road against Buffalo (8-3, 1-0 MAC) today in its first match of the Mid-American Conference season. Toledo started the day by claiming the doubles point. The No. 1 pairing of senior Sidnay Huck/ junior Kokoro Chishaki won 6-3, and the No. 2 pairing of senior Colleen O'Brien/sophomore Dee Dee Leenabanchongearned their 12th straight doubles victory with a 6-1 triumph. Full Story...

Broncos Sweep Bradley, 7-0


KALAMAZOO, Mich.- The Western Michigan women's tennis team (9-7) wrapped up nonconference play with a dominate victory over Bradley 7-0 this afternoon inside West Hills Athletic Club. With the win the Broncos improved to 9-7 overall 7-1 at home this season. In doubles, the Broncos were able to secure the doubles point quickly as the Braves were unable to have a third doubles team. The duo of junior Melina Lyubomirova and redshirt senior Barbare Eristavi took the victory 6-1 at No. 1. Full Story...

Women's Tennis Sweeps Wayne State, 7-0

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan women's tennis team snapped its three-match losing streak on Thursday evening with a 7-0 sweep over the Warriors of Wayne State inside West Hills. With the victory, the Broncos improve to 8-7 overall and 6-1 at home. The Broncos got things started early clinching the doubles point at No. 3 and No. 2, in that order. Junior Denise Azcui and freshman Jeryn Jack picked up their third win together at the three position as the pair defeated Kuznetsova / Da-Silva easily, 6-1. In their first match together this spring, junior Katja Fevralev and sophomore Gabriela Slavova clinched the point for the Broncos with a 6-2 victory. Full Story...
