Akron:
Zips Win Two Matches Saturday
AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron women's tennis team welcomed in the month of March with two wins on Saturday at the LaTuchie Tennis Center. In the morning, Akron defeated Oakland (3-6 overall), 5-2. In the afternoon, the Zips (9-6 overall) shut out Butler (9-6 overall), 7-0. Akron captured the doubles point in both matches, winning all six matches. At No. 1 doubles, sophomore Rita Pedroso and freshman Anna Uljanov claimed two wins on the day, beating Oakland's Dasha Artamonova and Allison Motea, 6-1, and Butler's Rachel Sutton and Jordan Minnick, 6-2.

Women's Tennis Sweeps Niagara
WILLIAMSVILLE, NY – The University at Buffalo women's tennis team swept past Niagara on Friday night at the Miller Tennis Center, dominating in all the matches that were played. UB won all three doubles contests and then all six singles matches in straight sets. In doubles action, UB's number one team of Tanja Stojanovska and Anna Savchenko took care of business with a 6-0 sweep. Chantal Martinez Blanco and Lolade Ogungbesan won at second doubles 6-4 and at third doubles, Emel Abibula and Arianna Paules Aldrey dropped just one game in a 6-1 victory.

Eagles Post 6-1 Win Over Grand Valley State
YPSILANTI, Mich. – The Eastern Michigan University tennis team put together an all-around impressive performance against NCAA Division II No. 23 Grand Valley State University Saturday, March 3, topping the Lakers 6-1 at the Chippewa Racquet Club. EMU kicked off doubles with an easy 6-0 win from the senior duo of Ani Gogvadze (Tbilisi, Georgia-Khikhani) and Andrea Martinovska (Plzn, Czech Republic-Sport and Management School) at No. 2.

Women's Tennis Falls At Indiana, 6-1
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Miami University women’s tennis team put up a good fight Saturday, but they eventually were overpowered by their Big Ten foe, Indiana. The RedHawks finish the non-conference season at 4-7 after the match, while Indiana improves to 11-3. Indiana claimed the doubles point to start the match, winning 6-2 on the first doubles court and 6-3 on court three, leaving the match at second doubles unfinished.

Women's Tennis Falls At UIC
CHICAGO – The Northern Illinois University Women's Tennis team fell to UIC, 6-1, at XS Tennis Monday afternoon. The Huskies (4-7) dropped the doubles point as UIC won 6-0, 6-2 and 6-2 at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 doubles, respectively.

Huskies Drop Road Match At Marquette
MILWAUKEE – The Northern Illinois University Women's Tennis team suffered a 7-0 loss to Marquette Friday afternoon. The Huskies (4-6) dropped their first doubles point in three contests as Marquette won all three doubles matches on the day by the score of 6-1. NIU also failed to win a singles match as the Golden Eagles won all six matches. Freshmen Maria Potsi and Thisuri Molligoda each suffered 6-0 losses in their first sets, but pushed their opponents in the second set. Molligoda lost 7-5 at No. 1 singles, while Potsi was edged at No. 3 in the second set, 7-6.

Women's Tennis Falls at Florida Gulf Coast
FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Western Michigan women's tennis team suffered is second straight loss at Atlantic Sun Conference opponent Florida Gulf Coast on Monday afternoon with a score of 6-1 in Fort Myers. The Eagles, who improved to 2-3 overall, took the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 to take a 1-0 lead. FGCU clinched the match by winning the first four singles matches, but redshirt senior Barbare Eristavi earned a comeback win at No. 2 for the Broncos. Eristavi defeated Julia Ascua 4-6, 6-2, 10-8 to improve to 9-9 this season and 7-5 this spring, with a five-match winning streak.

Broncos Fall 6-1 At USF
TAMPA, Fla. – The Western Michigan women's tennis team saw its five-match winning streak snapped at the University of South Florida on Sunday afternoon with a final score of 6-1. The Broncos are now 7-5 overall and will head to Florida Gulf Coast tomorrow for a match at 5 p.m. in Fort Meyers. The Lady Bulls took the doubles point with wins at No. 3 and No. 2, in that order, taking a 1-0 lead heading into singles play. USF pushed its lead to 4-0, clinching the match, winning matches at the four, one, and six before winning the two spot as well.
