ATHENS, Ohio – After day two of the 2018 MAC Women's Swimming and Diving Championship, Akron remains atop the leaderboard after another impressive showing Thursday evening.
In the first event of the evening, Miami's Ella Moynihan dominated the 500-freestyle setting a new MAC Record with a time of 4:42.42. Her impressive run broke the previous record by two seconds.
The women's 200-yard IM was won by Akron's Paloma Marrero was able to share the podium with teammates Ellie Nebraska, and Paulina Nogaj who earned second and third place respectively.
Buffalo's Megan Burns continued her domination of the 50-freestyle, winning the event for the 4th straight year with a time of 22.47. Burns earned the Conference record at the MAC Championship last year with a time of 22.04.
In the 1-Meter Dive, Bowling Green's Talisa Lemke edged out Pei Lin of Miami for the first MAC Championship victory of her career. Lemke tallied a total of 319.65 points earn the gold medal in the event.
In the final race of the night, the relay team of Sadie Fazekas, Susan Franz, Morgan Waggoner, and Ellie Nebraska combined to win the 200-Freestyle for Akron. The time of 1:29.74 set a MAC Championship record and earned Akron their third relay victory in Athens.

The events that will be run tomorrow are the 400-yard IM, 100-yard butterfly, 200-yard freestyle, 100-yard breaststroke, 100-yard backstroke, three-meter dive and 400-yard medley relay.
