Akron:
Zips Top UMKC, 5-2

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – In the battle of the kangaroos, the University of Akron women's tennis team concluded its road trip with a 5-2 win at Missouri-Kansas City at the Kansas City Racquet Club on Saturday afternoon. The Zips (7-6 overall) captured the doubles point over the Roos (5-5 overall) with wins at the No. 1 and 3 positions. At No. 1 doubles as sophomore Rita Pedroso and freshman Anna Uljanov defeated Melinda Johnson and Yana Grechkina, 7-6 (4).  Full Story...

Women's Tennis Drops Match At Kansas State

MANHATTAN, Kan. – The University of Akron women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 match at No. 35 Kansas State on Friday evening at the Body First Indoor Tennis Center. The Zips (6-6 overall) won at No. 1 doubles as sophomore Rita Pedroso and freshman Anna Uljanov defeated Carolina Costamagna and Margot Decker, 6-3.  Decker is nationally ranked at No. 104. But the Wildcats (6-1 overall) claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and 3 doubles. Full Story...

Ball State:
Cardinals Suffer 5-2 Road Loss

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The Ball State women's tennis team (5-4) suffered a 5-2 road loss to Youngstown State (5-7) Saturday afternoon at the Boardman Tennis Center. Ball State took the early 1-0 advantage after earning the doubles point today over the Penguins.  The Cardinals No. 3 doubles tandem of Peyton Gollhofer and Lily Hadab were the first off the court, earning a 6-2 victory over Ana Stroe and Antasiia Khokhlova.  Youngstown State then knotted doubles play 1-1 with their win over the Cardinals on the top court.  The first point of the match would come down to the Cardinals duo of Audrey Berger and Rebecca Herrington.  Full Story...

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – The Bowling Green tennis program (6-3) was able to pick up a road victory against Detroit (3-8) Sunday evening when they earned two doubles and three singles victories for a 4-0 win.  Full Story...

Falcons Drop Decision At Notre Dame

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Junior Paula Comella highlighted the Bowling Green tennis program's (5-3) match at the University of Notre Dame (5-2) Saturday afternoon by picking up a singles and doubles win against the Fighting Irish. Despite dropping a 6-1 decision, the Falcons earned the one singles and one doubles win on the road, while Comella is now on a four-match win streak in singles play. Full Story...

Buffalo:
Bulls Fall At Penn State, 6-1

STATE COLLEGE, PA – The University at Buffalo women's tennis team played strong doubles on Sunday afternoon against Big Ten foe Penn State, but the Bulls struggled in singles in a 6-1 loss to the Nittany Lions. UB came away with the doubles point, picking up a win early at third doubles as Emel Abibula and Arianna Paules Aldrey scored a 6-4 win.  After Penn State won at one, the Bulls need a victory at second doubles and they got it in a tiebreaker, as Chantal Martinez Blanco and Lolade Ogungbesan won 7-6 (4). Full Story...

Women's Tennis Fall Short At West Virginia, 4-3

MORGANTOWN, WV – The University at Buffalo women's tennis team had a heartbreaking 4-3 defeat on Saturday at West Virginia as the match came down to a third-set tiebreaker at fifth singles. West Virginia won the crucial doubles point with victories at one and two.  The match at third doubles was tied at 4-4 when play was stopped.  Full Story...

Miami:
Women's Tennis Splits Weekend

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – The Miami University women’s tennis team went 1-1 over their weekend trip to Tennessee, dropping their first match to East Tennessee State 6-1 on Friday before taking down Western Kentucky 4-1 on Saturday. The ‘Hawks are now sitting at 5-6 on the season. Nothing seemed to go quite right for Miami in its match against the Buccaneers. The RedHawks came in early with a doubles win from Priyana Kalita and Anastasiia Vasiukhina, but ETSU would go on to win the other two doubles pairings to clinch the point. In singles, ETSU quickly earned wins on courts 6, 1, and 2 to clinch the victory. Miami’s lone point came when junior Emily Struble bested her opponent in a close match, with Struble grinding out a third-set tiebreak win. Full Story...

Huskies Fall At DePaul

CHICAGO – The Northern Illinois University Women's Tennis team fell to DePaul, 7-0,  at Lakeshore Sport & Fitness Sunday afternoon. The Huskies (4-5) dropped their first doubles point in three contests as DePaul won all three doubles matches on the day.  Full Story...

Toledo:
Rockets Win Sixth Straight

Toledo, Ohio - The University of Toledo women's tennis won its sixth-straight match with a 6-1 victory over Detroit at Twos Tennis Club in Toledo on Friday. The Rockets (7-2) need one more win to match the longest streak in head coach Tracy Mauntler's tenure. Mauntler's teams won seven straight matches in 2010 and 2013. The Rockets' first point of the day came from clinching the doubles point. Senior Sidnay Huck and junior Kokoro Chishaki won their match at No. 1 doubles, 6-2. Sophomore Mimi Kendall-Woseley and junior Thalita Rodrigues won, 6-4, at No. 2 doubles to clinch the doubles point. Senior Colleen O'Brien and sophomore Dee Dee Leenabanchong were leading, 5-3, at No. 3 when the match was discontinued.

Western Michigan:
Women's Tennis Sweeps Kalamazoo College

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan women's tennis team won its fifth straight at Kalamazoo College on Sunday afternoon with a 7-0 sweep over the Hornets inside the Marken Center. With the win, the Broncos improve to 7-4 overall and now prepare for two matches in Florida over spring break. The Brown & Gold swept all doubles matches to earn the doubles point and as a team are now 17-14 in dual-match season as a team. Freshman Jeryn Jack and redshirt senior Barbare Eristavi clinched the point with a 6-0 win at No. 3 as the pair played together for the first time this spring. Senior Denise Azcui and sophomore Gabriela Slavova improved to 2-0 together with a 6-1 win at No. 2. Full Story...

Broncos Stay Perfect at Home

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Western Michigan women's tennis team took down Spring Arbor 7-0 inside West Hills Athletic Club on Saturday afternoon. The Broncos remain undefeated at home (5-0) and extend their winning streak to four matches. The Brown & Gold started off hot, sweeping the doubles point with 6-0 wins coming from the duos of both Katja Fevralev/ Barbare Eristavi and Denise Azcui/ Gabriela Slavova. Full Story...
