Perry Finishes Eighth At Midlands
EVANSTON, Ill. -- For the first time in his career, University at Buffalo wrestler Brett Perry earned a spot on the podium at the Ken Kraft Midlands Championships on Sunday. The Bulls' 197-pounder finished eight at the prestigious tournament hosted by Northwestern. After going 4-1 on Saturday, Perry faced off against Illinois' Andre Lee in his first match on Sunday. Perry took a 3-1 decision for his fifth straight win of the tournament.

Keller And Perry Advance At Midlands
EVANSTON, Ill. – A pair of University at Buffalo wrestlers advanced to second day action at the Ken Kraft Midlands hosted by Northwestern University on Saturday. Troy Keller and Brett Perry will both compete on Sunday. Keller and Perry both lost their opening matches, but each won their next four consolation bouts to advance to Sunday.

Two Place At Midlands
EVANSTON, Ill. -- Matt Stencel finished third at 285 pounds and Logan Parks placed seventh at 157 on Sunday to lead the Central Michigan wrestlers at the Ken Kraft Midlands Championships at the Sears Centre Arena. Stencel, a sophomore who was seeded sixth, defeated seventh-seeded AJ Nevills of Fresno State, 10-5, in the third-place match. Stencel, who went 6-1 in the tournament and is 15-4 on the season, is ranked 16th by The Open Mat, while Nevills is ranked 18th. Parks, a junior who was seeded 13th, won the seventh-place match by medical forfeit over John Vanbrill of Rutgers. Parks went 7-2 in the two-day tournament.

Three Chippewas Alive At Midlands
EVANSTON, Ill. -- Three Central Michigan wrestlers remain alive in their respective consolation brackets after day one of the Ken Kraft Midlands Championships, hosted by Northwestern, at the Sears Centre Arena. CMU's Drew Hildebrandt (125 pounds), Logan Parks (157) and Matt Stencel (285) are still in the hunt to finish as high as third place in their respective weight classes. Parks, a junior, went 5-1 on Saturday, while Hildebrandt went 3-1 and Stencel finished the day 2-1. Thirteen other CMU wrestlers were eliminated on Saturday. The tournament is scheduled to conclude on Sunday.

Kent State Stuns Michigan State
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – For the first time since 2013, Kent State (6-7) knocked off a Big Ten opponent with an 18-17 victory over Michigan State (4-2) Sunday at the South Beach Duals. Each team won five matches, but Andrew McNally's pin gave the Golden Flashes the bonus points they needed to close out their weekend on a high note at the Fort Lauderdale Convention Center. After absorbing a 51-0 loss against No. 9 Minnesota to start the day, the Flashes evened their weekend record at 2-2 to close out the 2018 portion of their schedule. Three Flashes avenged losses from earlier this season against Spartan opponents, beginning with junior Tim Rooney, who topped former teammate Anthony Tutolo 4-3 at 133. In a scramble from the neutral position, Rooney converted a third period takedown that proved to be the difference-maker.

Flashes Top SIUE 23-14 in Day One Split of South Beach Duals
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Kent State (5-6) never trailed in a 23-14 win over SIU Edwardsville Saturday at the South Beach Duals. The Golden Flashes split a pair of neutral site Mid-American Conference dual meets on day one of the eight-mat event inside the Fort Lauderdale Convention Center. No. 6 Missouri won its 27th consecutive dual meet with a 44-0 victory in the Flashes' first dual of the day. The Tiger lineup included five wrestlers ranked in the Top 15, helping the defending MAC champions improve to 8-0 on the season.

No. 6 Missouri Drops Cornell in Top-10 Dual to Complete Perfect Weekend
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – No. 6 Mizzou Wrestling capped a dominant weekend at the South Beach Duals by defeating No. 8 Cornell, 22-9, in a top-10 dual Sunday afternoon. The dual win improved Mizzou to a perfect 10-0 this season and extended its winning streak to 30 consecutive duals, dating back to 2016-17. In all, Mizzou defeated three ranked teams at the South Beach Duals, including a pair of top-15 opponents Sunday. Mizzou outscored its four opponents, 128-24, over the four duals on South Beach. Mizzou won 32 of 40 individual bouts over the weekend with 16 of the 32 wins earning team bonus points.

No. 6 Missouri Completes Perfect Day at South Beach Dual, Downs Lehigh
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – No. 6 Mizzou Wrestling completed a perfect 2-0 outing during day one of the South Beach Duals, downing No. 21 Lehigh, 21-12, Saturday afternoon. After going 2-0 on the day, Mizzou has now won 28 consecutive duals, a streak that dates back to the 2016-17 season. The win was Mizzou's third over a top-25 opponent this season; Mizzou downed No. 17 Illinois to open the year and beat No. 14 Virginia Tech on Nov. 16. Coupled with Mizzou's 44-0 win over Kent State to open the weekend, Mizzou won 15 of 20 bouts on the day, winning the two duals by a combined score of 65-12. The team did not allow a bonus point win by its opponents on Saturday and earned nine bonus point wins in 20 bouts.

Huskie Duo Place At Midlands
EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northern Illinois University wrestling finished strong at the 56th Annual Ken Kraft Midlands Championships as a pair of Huskies placed in their respective weight classes in the prestigious event at the Sears Center on Sunday. Brit Wilson placed third at 174, while Caden McWhirter finished sixth at 165. McWhirter, who was competing in the consolation bracket, began his day with a dominating 9-4 victory over Jacen Petersen of Arizona State. Following a 10-1 maj. dec. loss to the Sun Devils' Joshua Shields. He then suffered a 5-0 defeat to Jonathan Viruet of Brown in the fifth-place match.

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Three Northern Illinois University wrestlers advanced to the second day of competition at the 56th Annual Ken Kraft Midlands Championships at the Sears Center after a strong day Saturday. Brit Wilson (Mexico, Mo./Mexico) advanced to the semifinals at 174, while Caden McWhirter (Prattville, Ala./Prattville) and Will Feldkamp (Dexter, Mich./Dexter) will battle their way through the consolation bracket at 165 and 184, respectively.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- The Ohio wrestling team claimed eighth place with 54.5 points at the 2019 Southern Scuffle presented by Compound Sportswear, with the two-day tournament wrapping up today at McKenzie Arena. Two Bobcats claimed fourth-place finishes at the Southern Scuffle -- redshirt junior Zac Carson (Akron, Ohio) at 157 pounds and senior Cameron Kelly (Bellbrook, Ohio) at 141 pounds.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- The Ohio wrestling team is in eighth place with 36.5 points after the opening day of the 2019 Southern Scuffle presented by Compound Sportswear, which took place today at McKenzie Arena. Six Bobcats advanced to the second day of the Southern Scuffle. Monarchs Wrap Up Action At Midlands
EVANSTON, Ill. -- Old Dominion wrapped up action at the 56th Annual Midlands Championships at the Sears Centre Arena hosted by Northwestern. At 125 pounds, McGee dropped his opening bout in overtime but bounced back with back-to-back wins in the wrestlebacks. The sophomore went 3-2 at the competitive event after winning three-straight bouts. Wrestling at 133 pounds, Killian Cardinale, Savion Haywood and Tyler Delaware all fell in their opening round. Haywood took a 13-5 major decision in his first wrestleback over Penn's Tristin DeVincenzo, but ultimately fell out of the tournament with a loss in the wrestlebacks by pin. Delaware and Cardinale fell out of the event after two straight losses.

Ruffin Sparks SIUE at South Beach Duals
FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Justin Ruffin went 4-0 for the weekend with wins over wrestlers from Virginia and Wyoming, but the SIUE wrestling team took a pair of team losses on the final day of the South Beach Duals. Ruffin, a 157-pound freshman, improved to 10-5 with victories over Virginia's Jake Keating (12-10) and Wyoming's Dewey Kruger (9-4). Williams took his first loss of the South Beach Duals early Sunday but rebounded for a 13-6 triumph over Wyoming's Jed Loveless at 149 pounds.

Cougars Upended By Kent State, Michigan State
FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Three SIUE wrestlers were double winners on opening day of the South Beach Duals. Tyshawn Williams, Justin Ruffin and Christian Dulaney all won both of their respective matches. As a team, the Cougars lost a pair of matches, dropping a 28-11 decision to Michigan State and 23-14 to Kent State in a Mid-American Conference battle. Williams, a 149-pounder, picked up the first SIUE victory of the day with a 10-6 decision over Jaden Enriquez. He later bested Kent State's Kody Komara 6-3.
