YPSILANTI, Mich. -- Eastern Michigan quarterback Tyler Wiegers seven-yard touchdown pass to Blake Banham with 7:33 left in the fourth quarter opened a 14-7 lead for the Eagles as they held on for a 17-7 final over Central Michigan on Saturday afternoon at Rynearson Stadium. With the win Eastern Michigan improves to 5-5 overall, 3-3 in the MAC, while Central Michigan falls to 1-9 overall, 0-6 in league play. 

Eastern Michigan opened the scoring on its opening possession as Shaq Vann scored on a 26 yard run to open a 7-0 lead at 12:30 in the first quarter.  Just before the half, Central Michigan's defense made a big play as Mike Danna recovered a fumble and ran 68-yards for the touchdown with seven second left in the half to tie the game, 7-7.

Eastern Michigan's Chad Ryland added a 26 yard field goal with 4:47 left in regulation for the 17-7 final. 

Eastern Michigan's defense held Central Michigan to only 138 yards of offense, forced two interceptions and added four sacks.  For Eastern Michigan, Vann rushed for 114 yards and one touchdown on 13 carries, while Wiegers threw for 150 yards and one touchdown.  Full Story...
