KENT, Ohio -- Ohio junior quarterback Nathan Rourke scored the go-ahead touchdown from eight yards out with 1:28 to go to help lead the Ohio football team (3-2, 1-0 MAC) to a 27-26 victory over Kent State (1-5, 0-2 MAC) to open MAC play with a win this evening at Dix Stadium. The victory gave 14th-year head coach Frank Solich his 100th victory at Ohio. The Bobcats trailed the Golden Flashes, 26-23, with 5:12 to go when Kent State freshman kicker Matthew Trickett knocked down his fourth field goal of the game -- this one from 28 yards out.  Full Story...

TOLEDO, Ohio -- In his first starting assignment at quarterback, Toledo sophomore Eli Peters threw for three touchdowns and redshirt freshman running back Bryant Koback added three more on the ground as Toledo defeated arch-rival Bowling Green, 52-36, in the Battle of I-75 in its Homecoming game at the Glass Bowl on Saturday. It was the ninth consecutive victory for the Rockets over the Falcons but it didn't come easy. Toledo (3-2, 1-0 MAC) jumped out to a 17-0 lead but was only up by three points, 31-28, going into the fourth quarter. But the Rocket defense clamped down and Koback scored all three of his touchdowns in the final 15 minutes to secure the win.  Full Story...

MT. PLEASANT, Mich. – Buffalo rushed for a season-high 307 yards and three touchdowns to defeat Central Michigan, 34-24, at Kelly/Shorts Stadium on Saturday afternoon. It was UB's first-ever win at Central Michigan to improve to 5-1 overall and 2-0 in MAC play. Buffalo's young running backs led the way. Redshirt-freshman Kevin Marks rushed for a career-high 167 yards and a touchdown. It was the second-most rushing yards by a UB freshman in the Bulls' FBS era behind Marquis Dwarte's 173 yards against Akron in 2000. KALAMAZOO, Mich. – In the 95th annual Western Michigan Homecoming game, the Bronco defense led the way with a key turnover, three sacks and eight tackles for loss as Western Michigan defeated Eastern Michigan, 27-24 on Saturday afternoon inside Waldo Stadium. With the win the Broncos improve their overall record to 4-2 and 2-0 in MAC play. Western Michigan has won four straight games and begins MAC play 2-0 for the fourth straight year.

The Bronco defense was led by junior linebacker Alex Grace who recorded a game-high 12 tackles followed by juniors Drake Spears and Justin Tranquill with nine. Sophomore defensive tackle Ralph Holley forced a fumble and registered a career-high six tackles and two sacks. Junior running back LeVante Bellamy provided the offensive spark for the Broncos registering 17 carries for 76 yards and two total touchdowns (one rushing, one receiving). Redshirt senior Jamauri Bogan had 15 carries for 37 yards and a touchdown. Bogan's rushing TD was his 31st in his career, passing Bronco Hall of Famer Robert Sanford for third all-time at Western Michigan.  Full Story...

MUNCIE, Ind. -- Northern Illinois running back Marcus Jones ran for 130 yards on 12 carries and the Northern Illinois University defense held Ball State's potent offensive attack to three field goals through three quarters of play to lead NIU to a 24-16 victory over the Cardinals Saturday.  With the win, NIU won the Battle for the Bronze Stalk Trophy for the 10th consecutive year and improved to 3-3 on the season, 3-0 in the MAC. Full Story...

AKRON, Ohio -- A hungry Miami defense came up with five takeaways, including four in the final quarter, to help the RedHawks cruise to a 41-17 win over Akron at InfoCision Stadium Saturday. The RedHawks improve to 2-4 (2-1 MAC) with the victory, while the Zips fall to 2-2 (0-1 MAC). Brad Koenig was the standout of the game for the RedHawk defense, coming up with two interceptions and a fumble recovery.
