KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Toledo sophomore quarterback Eli Peters came off the bench to replace the injured Mitchell Guadagni and lead Toledo to a 51-24 victory over Western Michigan in Kalamazoo Thursday night. Guadagni had the Toledo offense rolling in the first half, pacing Toledo to a 23-17 advantage, but suffered an apparent injury on the next-to-last play of the half. Peters came in and took a roughing the passer penalty that set up a Jameson Vest field goal on the final play of the half.
     
Peters kicked the offense into overdrive in the second half, driving the Rockets to three quick touchdowns to open up a 44-17 lead that proved too big a hole for the Broncos to climb out of. For the game, Peters was 8-of-14 for 107 yards and three touchdowns. Guadagni was 10-of-18 for 140 yards and two scores. Senior Cody Thompson led the receiving corps with six receptions and three touchdowns. Toledo's offense racked up 515 yards of total offense, compared to 432 for Western Michigan. Redshirt freshman Bryant Koback paced the rushing attack with 99 yards and one score.  Full Story...

ATHENS, Ohio -- Ohio (5-3 ,3-1 MAC) defeated MAC West Division rival Ball State (3-6, 2-3 MAC), 52-14, in front of a 13,374 Thursday Night Lights crowd in its Blackout Game tonight at Peden Stadium. Ohio junior quarterback Nathan Rourke accounted for a game-high three total touchdowns, throwing one touchdown and rushing for two.

Rourke completed of 11-of-19 passes for 127 yards and carried the ball eight times for 77 yards. Redshirt senior wide receiver Andrew Meyer hauled in a game-high four receptions for 50 yards and caught a touchdown.  Redshirt senior wide receiver Papi White compiled three receptions for 35 yards while redshirt senior running back A.J. Ouellette compiled two receptions for 18 yards and racked up a game-high 135 rushing yards on 13 carries. Redshirt senior running back Maleek Irons racked up 102 rushing yards on 16 carries marking his third 100-yard rushing performance of the year. Full Story...
