Herb and Dooley Earn Swimmer of the Week Honors

MAC Women's Swimmer of the Week
Izzy Herb, Miami        
Junior, St. Charles, Ill. (St. Charles East)       
 
Junior Izzy Herb swept the events she competed in as Miami won 10 events to beat Ohio 171-129 in Athens on Saturday. Herb earned two individual wins as she swam the 200 fly (2:02.51) and the 200 back (2:01.20) in addition to swimming a leg on each of the relay teams - the 400 medley relay (3:52.96) and the 400 free relay (3:31.30).
 
MAC Men's Swimmer of the Week
Jimmy Dooley, Southern Illinois 
Junior, Round Lake, Ill. (Carmel Catholic)     
 
Won the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke. 2nd in dual meet against McKendree 100-breast (58.01), 200-breast (2:07.35)          Set PR in 100-breast. Led men's team with two victories.

Junior, Cuiaba, Brazil (Colegio Amorim)       
 
Junior Iago Moussalem led the RedHawks to a 175-125 victory over Oakland as they also swam against a Michigan team that finished eighth in the country last season. Moussalem had impressive individual swims as he took second in the 100 fly (49.03) and fourth in the 200 fly (1:52.66). He also contributed to a third-place 400 free relay finish (3:04.72) as well as a sixth-place 200 medley relay finish (1:33.60).

Corrin Van Lanen, Ohio          
Senior, Green Bay, Wis. / Pulaski High School          
 
Ohio University came up short to Miami (Ohio) this afternoon,132-171. Corrin Van Lanen contributed three key individual event wins which included the 50 freestyle, finishing with a 23.94 time, the 100 yard free first place finish with a time of 52.80 and the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 55.90.
