Broncos Fall at Notre Dame
NOTRE DAME, Ind. – With five matches in the next seven days, the Western Michigan women's tennis team began its tough stretch at Atlantic Coast Conference opponent Notre Dame on Tuesday night, falling by a score of 7-0 and are now 2-2 overall.
Tuesday's match was the first dual match of the spring for the Fighting Irish, as they swept the match, claiming all three doubles matches and all six singles matches. The Bronco duo of junior Melina Lyubomirova and Katja Fevralev dropped their first match of the spring together and are now 2-1 at the No. 1 spot. In singles, Fevralev and freshman Jeryn Jacksaw their undefeated records snapped as well.
The Broncos remain on the road, traveling to Waco, Texas, for a pair of matches against No. 20 Baylor on Friday, Jan. 26 at 11 a.m. followed by New Mexico on Saturday, Jan. 27 at 6 p.m. The Brown and Gold return to West Hills on Saturday, Feb. 3 for a doubleheader against IUPU and Hillsdale College.
