Ball State:
Cardinals Suffer 6-1 Loss at Indiana

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Ball State men's tennis team opened spring play on the road with a 6-1 loss at Big Ten foe Indiana Monday afternoon in the IU Tennis Center. The Cardinals started the match off strong in their doubles debut, taking the first point from the Hoosiers after winning on courts two and three.  Marko Guzina paired up with teammate Conner Andersen on court two winning the match by a 6-3 decision over Indiana's Antonio Cembellin and Afonso Salgado.  Ball State also was victorious at the No. 3 position, helping the Cardinals clinch the point as the Ball State duo of Tom Carney and Chris Adams took down the Hoosiers Andrew Redding and Bennett Crane also by a score of 6-3. Full Story...

Men's Tennis Opens With Two Wins

KALAMAZOO, Mich.- The Western Michigan men's tennis team won both of its matches today inside West Hills against Xavier (6-1) and Detroit Mercy (5-2) as the Broncos start the spring season 2-0. The Broncos got off to a hot start by sweeping all the doubles matches to get the doubles point against the Musketeers. Duo s of senior Maik Steiner and sophomore Jannik Opitz won 6-4, Nick Schnobel and Eric Olivarez won 6-1 and Billy Heckman and Kennosuke Nouchi won 6-3. In singles, WMU won five of six matches. Steiner, Opitz and Haupt didn't let their opponents get three points as they dominated them in straight sets. Matej Svjetlicic also had a very strong performance winning in straight sets 6-2, 6-3. Olivarez had to earn his victory a little more by winning 6-4, 6-3.  Full Story...
