Buffalo:
Bulls Earn Road Win at SIU-Edwardsville

The University at Buffalo wrestling team took down SIU-Edwardsville, 24-14, at the Valdalabene Center on Friday night. The Bulls won four of the first five matches in the dual to set the tone. Like last night's dual at Missouri, the Bulls had several starters out of the lineup. Blake Retell earned his first dual win of the season with an 8-2 decision over Joe Antonelli at 133. Bulls Drop First MAC Dual at Missouri

The University at Buffalo wrestling team dropped its first Mid-American Conference dual of the season, losing at fourth-ranked Missouri, 37-6, at the Hearnes Center on Thursday afternoon. Due to injuries and illness, head coach John Stutzman had to hold five starters out of the lineup and utilized some of his youngsters. Justin Patrick started things off with an 11-10 sudden victory over Barlow McGhee at 125. McGhee took control of the match early with three first-period takedowns to take a 6-3 lead after the first. However, Patrick stormed back and wore out McGhee. Patrick was awarded two stall points in the second period to cut the lead to 6-5. In the third, Patrick got a late takedown and earned the riding time point to force overtime. Eastern Michigan:
Eagles Fall At Missouri

The Eastern Michigan University wrestling team battled, but were ultimately overwhelmed by No. 4 University of Missouri, 35-7, in MAC dual action Saturday afternoon, Jan. 13, at the Hearnes Center. The Eagles (4-6, 0-3 MAC) won two bouts on the day, both from their senior leaders. Redshirt senior Kyle Springer won his match via major decision, while fellow redshirt senior No. 17 Gage Hutchison won in overtime. Full Story...

Kent State:
Driscoll Steps Up as Flashes Down Campbell

Kent State (10-6) earned its second straight victory to close out the Virginia Duals Saturday at Hampton Coliseum with an 18-14 win over Campbell. The Golden Flashes won six bouts, including four of the first five weight classes. Senior Chance Driscoll wrestled up a weight class at 149 and came through with a key 3-1 decision over Zachary Barnes.  Filling in for an injured Nick Monico, Driscoll scored a second period takedown and an escape in the third, giving the Flashes a 9-3 lead. Full Story...

Flashes Top Fresno State at Virginia Duals

Kent State (9-6) ended its day on a high note with a 27-15 win over Fresno State during day one of the Virginia Duals Friday at Hampton Coliseum. The Golden Flashes dropped their opening dual to Chattanooga 23-15, then fell victim to No. 11 Northern Iowa 32-6. Freshmen accounted for three of the Flashes' seven victories against Fresno State, including Jake Ferri, who earned his first varsity dual win at 125 pounds. The other wins by freshmen came from Dylan Barreiro (174) and Colin McCracken (184), who recorded a second period pin.  McCracken used an arm bar and a far wrist to put Angel Solis on his back and give Kent State a commanding 24-9 lead with two matches to go.  Full Story...

Missouri:
No. 4 Ranked Missouri Rolls Over Eastern Michigan

No. 4 Mizzou Wrestling (14-0, 5-0 MAC) closed the home portion of its 2017-18 schedule with a 35-7 win over Eastern Michigan (4-6, 0-3 MAC) on Saturday afternoon at the Hearnes Center. Mizzou honored its seniors prior to the dual, and redshirt senior 125-pounder Barlow McGhee and redshirt senior 157-pounder Joey Lavallee each responded with wins in the dual. Full Story...

Tigers Rout Buffalo, 37-6

An incoming cold front pushed the dual against Buffalo up six hours, but it could not cool down the No. 4 ranked Missouri Tigers (13-0, 4-0 in the MAC) who routed Buffalo, 37-6, on Thursday afternoon at the Hearns Center.  With the win, Missouri improved to 4-0 in MAC duals, winning the four duals by a combined score of 153-18.  Full Story...

Northern Illinois:
Huskies Sweep SIU Tri-Meet

The Northern Illinois University wrestling team swept a pair matches in the SIUE Tri-Meet at the Bank of Springfield Center in Springfield, Ill. NIU defeated The Citadel, 43-10, in the first dual of the day and scored a 28-14 victory over Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville in the second dual of the day. The Huskies were led at 133 by Alijah Jeffery who won both of his matches via pin fall.  The Huskie redshirt-junior defeated The Citadel's Nicholas Long at 2:44 and Joe Antonelli of SIUE at 1:36.  Jeffery is 14-7 this season and has a team-leading 65 career wins.  Full Story...

Ohio:
Bobcats Take Down VMI, 37-6

After earning wins in nine out of the 10 weight-classes, the Ohio wrestling team (2-5) earned a big 37-6 victory over VMI while on the road on Saturday (Jan. 13) at Cormack Hall in Lexington, Va. Ohio junior No. 14 Cameron Kelly would earn another victory for the Bobcats in his match against VMI's Hunter Starner. Kelly would earn a quick takedown to start the match for a 2-0 lead before Starner earned a one-point escape. Kelly would add to his lead with another takedown in the first period. Kelly would take the victory quickly with a pin for a 9-1 win by fall in 2:05. Full Story...

Old Dominion:
Monarchs Edge Chattanooga, 20-17

The Old Dominion (5-5, 2-1 MAC) wrestling team topped Chattanooga (4-6, 2-0 SoCon), 20-17, on Saturday morning at the 38th annual Virginia Duals. The Monarchs finished in third place and split their duals 2-2. The Monarchs won six bouts out of the 10. In a match that came down to bonus points, Michael McGee secured a major decision victory over Fabien Gutirrez at 125 to give the Monarchs a strong start. Full Story...

Monarchs Defeat Campbell and fall to Virginia Tech and Iowa State

The Old Dominion (4-5, 2-1 MAC) wrestling team wrestled three matches on Friday, including a win over Campbell and a loss to No. 9 Virginia Tech and Iowa State. The Monarchs will wrestle Chattanooga on Saturday at 10 am ET. The Monarchs defeated Campbell, 22-18, lost to the Hokies, 28-9, and dropped their final match to the Cyclones, 25-12.  Full Story...
