FORT WORTH, Texas -- The Ball State soccer team faced a difficult challenge Friday night at TCU. The Cardinals were already on the road, taking on a Big 12 Conference opponent that played in last season's NCAA Tournament. On top of that, they suddenly found themselves down two goals just 20 minutes in.

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Maureen Kennedy converted her third career penalty kick, but it was not enough to overcome a two-goal deficit as the Bowling Green State University women's soccer team fell to the Michigan State Spartans 2-1 on Friday night (Sept. 1). The game was the Falcons' first of 2017 at Cochrane Stadium in Bowling Green, Ohio.

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Central Michigan soccer team dropped its opener in the Marquette Invitational to the host Golden Eagles, 1-0, on Friday. The Chippewas slipped to 2-2-1 and they look to close weekend on a winning note on Sunday (5:30 p.m.) when they face Loyola. The Ramblers (3-2) topped Mercer 5-2 on Friday.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University's soccer team could not muster enough offense to overcome Butler University Friday night, Sept. 1, under the lights at the Sellick Bowl in Indianapolis, Ind. EMU's (1-3-1) stout defense kept the game tied at halftime, but a 61st minute strike pushed BU past Eastern, 1-nil.

Fort Myers, Fla. – The Kent State soccer team (1-3) fell on the road 2-0 to Florida Gulf Coast (4-1) on Friday, Sept. 1 at the FGCU Soccer Complex. The match was plagued by severe weather in the area as the 7 p.m. scheduled start turned into a late night 9 p.m. kickoff.
