Mid-American Conference

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference announced its 2017 Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Academic All-MAC team Wednesday.
 
Of the 169 student-athletes named to the team, 9 of them recorded a perfect 4.0 grade point average; Rebecca Pietsch (Akron, Organizational Supervision), Danielle Dahl (Ball State, Executive Development Public Service), Becca Rae (Bowling Green, Communication Disorders), Sofie Gallein (Eastern Michigan, Communication), Sam Tollerud (Kent State, Exercise Science), Alison Olson (Northern Illinois, Sports Management), Alyssa Atkinson (Ohio, Electrical Engineering), Madeline Pacella (Toledo, Criminal Justice), and Jordan Anderson (Western Michigan, Occupational Therapy).
 
Miami leads the conference with 21 student-athletes receiving academic honors. Western Michigan follows with 18, while Kent State placed 17 ladies on the team.
 
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
