MUNCIE, Ind. – Junior pitcher Carolyn Wilmes (Evansville, Ind./Matre Dei) marked one more item off her career to-do list Friday afternoon by throwing her first career no-hitter to help the Ball State softball team sweep a Mid-American Conference doubleheader over Toledo by scores of 2-1 and 9-4 at the Softball Field at First Merchants Ballpark Complex.

ATHENS, Ohio – Led by home runs in both games from both Morgan Geno and Madison Claytor, the Ohio softball team (29-14, 10-7 MAC) completed the doubleheader sweep of Mid-American Conference East foe Bowling Green (23-25, 9-8 MAC) on Friday (April 21). The Bobcats defeated the Falcons 7-1 in game one, and then returned to down BGSU, 4-1 in the second game of the twin bill.

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – A win is a win, no matter how rough getting there may be. The Central Michigan softball team defeated Northern Illinois 2-1 in the opener of their three-game Mid-American Conference series at Margo Jonker stadium on Friday.? CMU improved to 29-12, 12-4 MAC, and remains in a virtual tie for first place in the MAC with Ball State, which swept Toledo in a league doubleheader on Friday to improve to 13-4 in league play. NIU is 21-7, 9-7.

AKRON, Ohio – Kent State scored seven unanswered runs to defeat rival Akron, 7-3, Friday afternoon at Lee R. Jackson Field. Senior Ronnie Ladines was terrific in the circle and the Golden Flashes showed patience at the plate to take advantage of walks and errors to mount their comeback.
