Akron:
Zips Remain Perfect In MAC Play
AKRON, Ohio – With its 6-1 win over Bowling Green at the LaTuchie Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon, the Akron women's tennis team remained undefeated in Mid-American Conference play with its 22nd consecutive victory. The Zips improved to 23-2 overall and a perfect 7-0 in MAC play, while the Falcons fell to 5-12 overall and 1-4 in the MAC. Full Story...

Ball State:
Cardinals Slide By Miami, 4-3
OXFORD, Ohio - The Ball State women's tennis team managed to take home a close 4-3 match this afternoon against Miami at the Miami University Outdoor Tennis Courts. It was a gritty victory for Ball State but the Cardinals prevailed over the RedHawks to remain undefeated in league action.  With the win, Ball State improved to 19-2 overall and 7-0 in conference play while Miami drops to 9-10 on the year and 4-2 in the MAC. The Cardinals have only lost  one doubles point all season long against their MAC counterparts and that was six matches ago, but despite losing on court two to start the match. Full Story...

Bowling Green:
Falcons Fall To Zips, 6-1
Akron, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University tennis team suffered a 6-1 loss to the Zips Sunday afternoon at the LaTuchie Tennis Center. In doubles, the top duo of sophomore Paula Comella and freshman Marharita-Sophia Tavpash defeated the Zips pair of junior Carli Knezevich and senior Karolina Maksimova on court one, 6-3, picking up their 15th overall victory. Full Story...

Falcons Fall At Buffalo, 7-0
Buffalo, N.Y. – The Bowling Green State University tennis team dropped its match to Buffalo by a 7-0 decision Friday afternoon at the University Tennis Center. In a close match, BGSU's duo of sophomore Paula Comella and freshman Marharita-Sophia Tavpash fell to Buffalo's pair of junior Tanja Stojanovska and senior Margarita Kotok, 7-5. Full Story...

Buffalo:
Strong Singles Play Leads Buffalo to 4-3 Comeback Win Over Miami
WILLIAMSVILLE, NY – The University at Buffalo women's tennis team won four of six matches in singles play, leading the Bulls to a 4-3 comeback victory over Miami (OH), Sunday afternoon at the Miller Tennis Center. The Bulls lost a tough doubles point as Miami won at one and then in a tiebreaker at three.  Chantal Martinez Blanco and Anna Savchenko won at second doubles, 6-2.  Full Story...

Bulls Win Second Straight With Sweep of Falcons
BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women's tennis teams rolled past Bowling Green on Friday afternoon as the Bulls swept the Falcons, 7-0.  The win was UB's second straight in Mid-American Conference play.  The match was UB's first home contest this spring to be held outdoors at the University Tennis Center on campus. With just five players on their roster, Bowling Green was forced to default at third double and sixth singles, meaning UB needed just one win at doubles for the point.  UB got that victory at first doubles as Tanja Stojanovska and Margarita Kotok won, 7-5. Full Story...

Eastern Michigan:
Women's Tennis Falls At Toledo
TOLEDO, Ohio – The Eastern Michigan University tennis team dropped a Mid-American Conference match to the University of Toledo, 6-1, Saturday, April 15. The Eagles (6-14, 1-5 MAC) registered one win on the day, with the victory coming at No. 4 singles. Toledo took the doubles point after securing wins at No. 1 and 3 doubles, to take an early lead in the match. Full Story...

Miami:
Women's Tennis Drops Tight Tilt To Buffalo
BUFFALO, N.Y. – After opening strong in doubles, four singles losses handed Miami University’s women’s tennis team a 4-3 loss to the University at Buffalo Sunday afternoon at the Miller Tennis Center. The RedHawks took the doubles point, claiming wins at the first and second positions. Junior Nelli Ponomareva and sophomore Anzhelika Shapovalova defeated Tanja Stojanovska and Margarita Kotok, 6-4 while sophomore Emily Struble and senior Andreea Badileanu were back on top with a narrow win over Laura Holterbosch and Emel Abibula, 7-6 (7-3). Full Story...

RedHawks Fall To Cardinals, 4-3
OXFORD, Ohio - In its final home match of the regular season, Miami University's women's tennis team fell to the Ball State Cardinals, 4-3, on Friday afternoon. The doubles point came down to the wire with juniors Anastasiia Vasiukhina and Hannah Shteyn getting the Red & White started on the right foot by claiming a 6-3 win over Audrey Berger and Julia Sbircea. Ball State evened things up at flight three where Isabelle Dohanics and Rosalinda Calderon rallied from a 5-3 deficit to pull off a 7-5 win. That brought it down to court one, where Nelli Ponomareva fought valiantly from a 5-2 deficit to grab a 6-5 lead.  Full Story...

Huskies Defeat Broncos, 4-3
ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University Women's Tennis team scored a 4-3 victory over Western Michigan on Senior Day at the Boylan Tennis Center Friday afternoon. The Huskies (9-12, 3-4) opened the match by winning the crucial doubles point. Senior Pauline Chawafambira and junior Evelyn Youel won the first match of the afternoon, 6-2, at No. 3 singles. Senior Adey Osabuohien and freshman Raven Neely won their match at No. 1 singles, 7-6. Full Story...

Toledo:
Rockets Beat Eagles For First MAC Victory
TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo women's tennis (9-11, 1-6 MAC) downed Eastern Michigan (6-14, 1-5 MAC), 6-1, at the UT Varsity Courts to tally its first conference win of the season. The Rockets jumped into a 1-0 lead by winning at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. UT freshman Dee Dee Leenabanchong and Mimi Kendall-Woseley soared to a 6-1 win on Court 1, while junior duo Sinday Huck and Colleen O'Brien defeated the Eagles, 6-4, at the No. 3 spot. Full Story...

DePaul Spoils Senior Day
KALAMAZOO, Mich. – In the team's last home match of the season, Western Michigan women's tennis dropped a nonconference match to DePaul 4-0 Sunday afternoon at West Hills Athletic Club. The Broncos also celebrated senior day against the Blue Demons, honoring lone senior Tracy Kuhle before the match.  Full Story...

Broncos Drop Close Match At NIU
DEKALB, Ill. – Western Michigan women' s tennis fell in a tight contest on the road Friday afternoon at Northern Illinois, as the Huskies came away with a 4-3 win over the Broncos. The Huskies came out and grabbed the doubles point early, earning wins at No. 1 and No. 3 while the court was tied at No. 2 when NIU clinched. In singles play, senior Barbare Eristavi kept her good spring going with a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 4 to improve to a team-best 24-7 overall and 6-1 in the MAC. She also moved her winning streak to a team-high six matches while senior Tracy Kuhle moved her winning streak to four matches with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 3. Full Story...
