Women's Tennis Sweeps Kennesaw St. to Win 17th Straight
KENNESAW, Ga. – The Akron women's tennis team won their 17th straight match with a 7-0 sweep of Kennesaw State at the Betty Siegel Courts in Kennesaw, Ga. The Zips improve to 18-2 (2-0 MAC) with the win, while the Owls fall to 5-9 (1-1 ASUN). The duos of junior Ariadna Blinova (Riga, Latvia)/junior Sophia Geier (Burgebrach, Germany) and junior Carli Knezevich (Austin, Texas) sophomore Luisa Echeverry (Cali, Colombia) helped the Zips clinch the doubles point.

Zips Set New Program Record with 16th Straight Win
AKRON, Ohio – The Zips set a new program record with their 16th straight win in a 7-0 sweep of Eastern Michigan on Sunday afternoon at LaTuchie Tennis Center. Akron improves to 17-2 (2-0 MAC) with the win, while Eastern Michigan drops to 6-10 (1-1 MAC). The 16 straight wins breaks the previous mark of 15 that had been set during the 2010 season.

Women's Tennis Ties School Record with 15th Straight Win
TOLEDO, Ohio – The Akron women's tennis team tied a program record with its 15th straight win in a 4-3 victory over Toledo on Friday afternoon at the UT Outdoor Courts. The Zips improve to 16-2 (1-0 MAC) with the win, while the Rockets fall to 8-6 (0-1 MAC). Akron also won 15 in a row to start the 2010 season.

Women's Tennis Starts MAC Play 2-0 With Win At NIU
DeKalb, Ill. - The Ball State women's tennis team (14-2, 2-0 MAC) completed its two-match weekend sweep to start Mid-American Conference action play when it registered a 6-1 victory at Northern Illinois (6-10, 0-2 MAC) Sunday afternoon in DeKalb. The 2-0 MAC start marks the second-straight season the Cardinals have opened league action with a 2-0 ledger. Last year Ball State only suffered one loss in conference play.

Women's Tennis Dominates On The Road
KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Ball State women's tennis team (13-2, 1-0 MAC) earned a convincing 6-1 victory at Western Michigan (6-8, 0-1 MAC) Friday in its Mid-American Conference opener at Sorensen Courts. The Broncos started the match off strong after taking the doubles point from Ball State. Barbare Eristavi and Katja Fevralev were the first WMU twosome off the court after their 6-2 take down over Isabelle Dohanics and Toni Ormond on court three. For the Cardinals, Audrey Berger and Julia Sbircea evened doubles play with their 6-4 defeat over Denise Azcui and Olivia Myers at the No. 2 postition.

Bowling Green:
Falcons Win Battle of I-75, 4-3
Perrysburg, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University tennis team rebounded from its loss Friday with a 4-3 victory over the University of Toledo Sunday at the Perrysburg Tennis Center. The Falcons improve to 1-1 in conference play and remain undefeated at home this season. This is BGSU's first win over Toledo since March 22, 2013. The doubles team of sophomore Paula Comella and freshman Marharita-Sophia Tavpash kicked off the match with a 6-2 win on court one versus the Rockets Sidnay Huck and Dee Dee Leenabachong. With the win, Comella and Tavpash improve to 8-6 on the season.

Falcons Fall To Eagles, 6-1
Ypsilanti, Mich. – The Bowling Green State University tennis team dropped its match to Eastern Michigan by a 6-1 decision Friday afternoon at the Chippewa Club. The Orange and Brown earned their only point in the dual match at No. 3 with sophomore Polina Radeva's win over EMU junior Andrea Martinovska. Up a set 6-2, Radeva dropped the second set 6-4 to Martinovska. Radeva came back to take the third, 6-3.

Bulls Fall To Charleston Southern, 6-1
CHARLESTON, SC – The University at Buffalo women's tennis team ended its Spring Break trip with a 6-1 loss to a red-hot Charleston Southern team, who won their 10thstraight match on Thursday afternoon. The Bulls have now completed their non-conference season with a 6-5 record. The Buccaneers won the doubles point with victories at two and three, but the Bulls did claim a win at first doubles as Margarita Kotok and Tanja Stojanovska won their match, 6-2.

Bulls Drop Heartbreaker At College Of Charleston
CHARLESTON, SC – The University at Buffalo women's tennis team won the doubles point on Wednesday afternoon, but lost a tough 4-3 match to the College of Charleston. The Cougars picked up their 12th win of the season, while the Bulls fell to 6-4. After Charleston won at first doubles, the Bulls took the next two matches to claim the early doubles point. At second doubles, Anna Savchenko and Chantal Martinez Blanco came away with a 6-4 victory and then at third doubles, Laura Holterbosch and Mercedes Losada Rubio came back for a 7-5 win.

Women's Tennis Falls To Akron
AKRON, Ohio -- On the opening weekend of the 2017 Mid-American Conference tennis season, Eastern Michigan University's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision at the hands of the University of Akron Sunday afternoon, March 26. The Eagles (6-10, 1-1 MAC) dropped their first conference contest of the season after defeating Bowling Green, March 24. For the Zips (17-2, 2-0 MAC), they picked up their second MAC win in as many matches.

Eagles Take Down Falcons, 6-1
YPSILANTI, Mich. – The Eastern Michigan University tennis team picked up its third-straight win Friday afternoon, March 24, when it defeated Bowling Green State University at the Chippewa Racquet Club. The Eagles (6-9, 1-0 MAC) received a free point by default at No. 6 singles, but still took away a 6-1 decision over the Falcons (4-9, 0-1 MAC).

Women's Tennis Powers Thru With 6-1 Win
HAMILTON, Ohio – Miami University’s women’s tennis team moved to 2-0 in the Mid-American Conference (6-8 overall) after it downed Western Michigan, 6-1, in a spectacular performance on Sunday afternoon at the Riverside Athletic Club. The RedHawks took doubles with wins at No. 1 and No. 3. Junior Nelli Ponomareva and sophomore Anzhelika Shapovalova took down Tracy Kuhle and Melina Lyubomirova, (6-3). The tandem of sophomore Emily Struble and senior Andreea Badileanu beat out Barbare Eristavi and Katja Fevralev, (6-2) to clinch the doubles point.

OXFORD, Ohio – Solid contributions from the lower half of the lineup keyed the Miami tennis team’s 6-1 victory over Northern Illinois in both team’s Mid-American Conference openers. The teams endured a grueling battle for the doubles point. Andreea Badileanu and Emily Struble made short work of Meghan Montgomerie and Brodie Walker on court three (6-2), but NIU’s (6-9, 0-1 MAC) duo of Adesuwa Osabuohien and Raven Neely overcame a 4-3 deficit to post a 6-4 win over Nelli Ponomareva and Anzhelika Shapovalova at flight one to leave the point down to court two.

Huskies Fall at Miami
OXFORD, Ohio – The Northern Illinois University Women's Tennis team suffered a 6-1 loss in the Mid-American Conference opener at Miami at the Miami Tennis Courts Friday afternoon. The Huskies' (6-9, 0-1) posted victories at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles. Adey Osabuohien (Hazel Crest, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor) and Raven Neely (Grosse Point, Mich./Grosse Point South) scored a 6-4 victory over Nelli Ponomareva and Anzhelika Shapovalova. Unfortunately for NIU, it would noty win the doubles' point.

Rockets Fall to Falcons, 4-3, in Battle of I-75
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Toledo women's tennis team dropped a close match against rival Bowling Green on Sunday afternoon in the Battle of I-75. The Rockets were defeated 4-3, dropping their record to 8-7 overall. Rocket duo Claire Aleck and Megan Miller put up a tough fight against Falcons Polina Radeva and Ayumi Sasaki at No. 2 doubles, but unfortunately came up short, 7-6 (7).

Rockets Suffer 4-3 Loss To Akron
TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo suffered a tough 4-3 loss to east-division foe Akron on Friday afternoon at the UT Varsity Tennis Courts. With its first conference loss of the season, UT falls to 8-6 overall. Akron dominated in the doubles competition. The Zips jumped ahead 1-0 with a pair of 6-2 victories at both first and second doubles.

Broncos Drop Road Match at Miami
OXFORD, Ohio – Western Michigan women's tennis fell on the road to last season's Co-Champions Sunday afternoon, as Miami topped the Broncos 6-1 at Riverside Athletic Club. WMU put the pressure on the RedHawks right off the bat, as the doubles team of Denise Azcui/Olivia Myers defeated Shteyn/Vasiukhina at No. 2, but Miami came back to win at No. 1 and No. 3 to take the doubles point.

Women's Tennis Falls In MAC Opener
KALAMAZOO, Mich. – In the Mid-American Conference (MAC) opener, the Western Michigan women's tennis fell to reigning MAC Tournament Champion Ball State 6-1 at Sorensen Courts Friday afternoon. The Broncos stormed out of the gates, winning the doubles point and taking an early lead on a majority of the courts in singles, but the Cardinals came back to sweep singles as every match but one went to a third set.
