Kyle Rodes, Eastern Michigan
Plymouth, Mich. (Plymouth)
Rodes powered the Eagles to a second-place team finish at the Loyola Intercollegiate today, Feb. 27, in Goodyear, Ariz. Rodes finished atop the podium, carding a three-round 13-under par to total a 203 (69-64-70), breaking the program record of 206, accomplished by Korey Mahoney in 2005. The senior continued his strong play after posting a 69 and 64 in the opening two rounds, as Rodes finished with the best 54-hole mark in EMU history. Needing to card a 72-or-better, he did just that, posting a final round 70 to surpass the previous record of 206 (71-65-70). As a team, EMU finished second after Connecticut jumped into first after finishing with a 30-under par total of 834. Eastern finished the tournament at 23-under par 841 (275-277-289), marking the second time this season that the Green and White have finished runner-up. That mark also shattered the team's three round record of 850, set earlier this season at the EKU Intercollegiate, Sept. 17-18.

Ian Holt, Kent State
Junior, Stow, Ohio (Stow - Munroe Falls)
Finishing one stroke out of an individual championship this week was junior Ian Holt, who finished second at 9-under par 207 at the Louisiana Classics. Holt was the overall leader for Kent State, who won the tournament by a wide margin. He began the tournament matching his career-best score of 65 and followed up in round two at 71. Holt posted a 71 Tuesday for his third straight round under par. He was one stroke off LSU's Sam Burns, the individual winner and second-ranked collegiate golfer in the country. The finish was Holt's second 54-hole tournament score under 210 this year. His performance this week boosted his individual ranking to 30th in the nation, and his team’s national ranking from 22nd to 12th.

Peyton White, Ohio
Senior, Huntersville, N.C. (William A. Hough School)
White finished second after shooting a final-round score of 68 (-3) at the Frontier Secure Intercollegiate on Tuesday (Feb. 28) at Heathrow Country Club to finish the tournament with a score of 208 (-5). White shot a pair of 70s (-1) in his first two rounds on Monday (Feb. 27). His three-round total of 208 tied him for the sixth-best score in program history. He shot an event-best -2 on the par 4s and also shot -10 on the par 5s, which tied for second-best in the field. He also tallied a tournament-high 15 birdies. The Bobcats finished the tournament in ninth place with a team score of 891 (+39) after combining to shoot a final-round 301 (+17). Ohio carded a 297 (+13) in the second round on Monday after posting a 293 (+9) in the first.
