EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – Junior pitcher Carolyn Wilmes (Evansville, Ind./Matre Dei) extended her shutout streak to 14.2 innings in guiding the Ball State softball team to a 3-0 win over Northern Kentucky Sunday afternoon to end play in the SIUE Tournament.

Bowling Green
The Bowling Green State University softball team fell victim to big innings by the opponent in each of Saturday's (March 18) two games at the Hoosier Classic. The Falcons dropped a 9-1 decision to UIC before falling to host Indiana University by an 11-3 final. Both contests were held at Andy Mohr Field.

Eastern Michigan
MACON, Ga. (EMUEagles.com) – Strong pitching paired with a balanced day at the plate led the Eastern Michigan University softball team to a sweep on its final day of action at the Mercer Bear Classic, Sunday, March 19. The Eagles (11-11) run-ruled Savannah State University, 10-1, behind four home runs, before avenging a previous loss to Belmont University, 4-3. With the sweep, the Green and White moved to 11-11 on the season, its best start since 2011.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Kent State lost both games of a doubleheader to No. 17 Michigan, 11-3 in six innings and 3-0, Sunday afternoon at Alumni Field. The Golden Flashes have dropped four contests to the Wolverines over the past eight days.

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. – With both starting pitchers Danielle Stiene and Savannah Jo Dorsey taking perfect games into the late innings, the Ohio softball team (19-6) wrapped up a perfect weekend by sweeping Sunday’s competition at the College of Charleston Tournament. In the first game, Stiene and the Bobcats defeated Western Carolina (5-10) 2-0 and came back and were led by Dorsey in Ohio’s 2-1 win against the College of Charleston (13-11).
