Akron:
Zips Sweep Niagara and St. Bonaventure
OLEAN, N.Y. – The Akron women's tennis team notched a pair of wins on Saturday afternoon with 7-0 victories over St. Bonaventure and Niagara at the St. Bonaventure Fitness Center. The Zips improve to 3-2 on the season with the victories.

Ball State:
Women's Tennis Defeats Wright State Sunday, 5-2
MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State women's tennis team closed its two-match weekend with another win when the Cardinals defeated Wright State by a score of 5-2 Sunday afternoon at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center.  With the win, the Cardinals improved their overall record to 5-1. Ball State trailed Wright State at the start of the match after losing the doubles point to the Raiders.  Although the Cardinals typically have a strong showing in doubles action they competed hard but couldn't get the job done today.  Full Story...

Women's Tennis Rolls Past Illinois State
MUNCIE, Ind. - MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State women's tennis team won a 6-1 decision over Illinois State on Saturday night at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center.  With the win, the Cardinals improve to an overall 4-1 record. In doubles play, Isabelle Dohanics and Julia Sbircea topped Andrea Beneroso and Valerija Gercar in a 6-4 decision on court three to tally Ball State's first win.  Illinois State then evened the score when the Redbirds took the top court by a score of 6-4 over Peyton Gollhofer and Audrey Berger.  Rosalinda Calderon and Rebecca Herrington clinched the doubles point for the Cardinals with their 6-4 defeat over Jana Kustkova and Gabriela Sprague. Full Story...

Bowling Green:
Falcons Fall At Michigan State

East Lansing, Mich. – The Bowling Green State University tennis team fell to Michigan State, 4-0 Saturday afternoon at the MSU Indoor Tennis Facility. In doubles, the Falcons fell behind early as sophomore Paula Comella and freshman Marharita-Sophia Tavpash dropped a 6-4 decision to Erin Faulkner and Emily Metcalf. Full Story...

Buffalo:
Bulls Sweep St. Bonaventure
WILLIAMSVILLE, NY – The University at Buffalo women's tennis team dominated in their spring opener on Friday afternoon as the Bulls took down St. Bonaventure, 7-0, at the Miller Tennis Center.  The Bulls swept through doubles action, while winning five of their six singles matches in straight sets. In doubles, the Bulls picked up a pair of 6-1 victories as they were claimed at second doubles by sophomore Chantal Martinez Blanco and freshman Anna Savchenko and at third doubles by the team of senior Laura Holterbosch and Mercedes Losada Rubio. Full Story...

Bulls Match Against Youngstown State Cancelled
BUFFALO, NY - Today's University at Buffalo women's tennis match against Youngstown State has been cancelled.  At this time it will not be made up. The Bulls, who won in their season opener on Friday against St. Bonaventure, will continue their season-opening homestand next weekend when they host Detroit on Friday and West Virginia on Saturday. Both matches will be at 1:00 pm at the Miller Tennis Center.

Eastern Michigan:
Cardinals Too Much For Eagles
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The Eastern Michigan University tennis team traveled to Louisville, Ky. to square off with the University of Louisville Friday, Feb. 3. The Eagles (1-5) dropped a 7-0 decision at the Cardinals' (5-0) home court, the Base-Rudd Tennis Center. The Green and White first loss the doubles point after Ani Gogvadze and Maria Paula Ribero fell, 6-2, at No. 2 doubles, while Renu Sharma and Anna Veleva dropped the No. 3 doubles match by an identical score. EMU's No. 1 duo of Andrea Martinovska and Marie Mayerova did not finish their match but were trailing 5-4 when play stalled. Full Story...

Miami:
RedHawks Down Indiana, 4-3
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – In its first win of the 2017 spring campaign, Miami University women’s tennis team made program history after downing Indiana University for the first time, 4-3, on Saturday afternoon. The competition also served as sophomore Abby Braddy’s debut on the courts. Previously Miami was sitting at 0-34 record in all-time competition between the two teams. The match started off slow in the doubles competition, but the RedHawks rallied to take down the Hoosiers in singles action. Full Story...

Huskies Complete Weekend Sweep
ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University women's tennis team completed the sweep of its matches this weekend with victories over in-state foes Bradley and Western Illinois at the Rockford Boylan Tennis Center Sunday afternoon. The Huskies (5-2) posted a 5-2 win over Bradley in the first match of the day, then recorded a 6-0 shutout of Western Illinois in the afternoon. Women's Tennis Sweeps Friday Matches
AURORA, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University women's tennis team swept its first two home matches of the season, defeating Chicago State and Green Bay at the Vaughn Athletics Center Friday afternoon. The Huskies (3-2) scored a 5-2 victory over Chicago State in NIU's home opener, and then posted a 7-0 shutout of Green Bay in the afternoon. Raven Neely and Brodie Walker went undefeated on the day in both singles and doubles action. Full Story...

Spartans Best Rockets, 7-0
LANSING, MI – The Toledo women's tennis team fell to Michigan State Saturday morning, 7-0 at the MSU Indoor Tennis Facility. Sophomore Claire Aleck and Freshman Mimi Kendall-Woseley were the only Rockets of the day to claim a victory. Aleck and Kendall-Woseley downed the Spartan duo of Emily Metcalf and Allie Baer in the form of a 4-2 win at No. 2 doubles.

Rockets Fall To Detroit, 4-3
DETROIT, MI – The Rockets faced a tough 4-3 loss to the Detroit Mercy Titans on Friday afternoon in their first match of the weekend. Toledo will head into tomorrow's match against Michigan State with a record of 3-3. Junior Sidnay Huck and Freshman Dee Dee Leenabanchong were the only Rockets to claim a victory in the doubles competition. Women's Tennis Stays Unbeaten at Home with 7-0 win over UIC
KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Western Michigan women's tennis remained unbeaten at home this season with a 7-0 win over UIC Sunday morning at West Hills. The Broncos improved to 5-2 this season and 4-0 at home. The score didn't indicate how close the match was, as four singles matches came down to a third set. In doubles play, the duo of senior Tracy Kuhle/sophomore Katja Fevralev made quick work at No. 3 winning 6-0. Junior Olivia Myers/sophomore Denise Azcui put the Broncos up 1-0 with a 6-4 win at No. 2 to clinch the doubles point. Full Story...

Women's Tennis Tops Cleveland State On The Road
CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Western Michigan women's tennis team earned a 5-2 win over Cleveland State on the road Friday afternoon. The Broncos improved to 4-2 this season and have won their past two matches. In their first action together this season, the duo of senior Tracy Kuhle and sophomore Katja Fevralev kicked off the action with a quick 6-0 win at No. 3 while senior Barbare Eristavi/sophomore Melina Lyubomirova clinched the doubles point with a 6-3 win at No. 1; it was also their first match together. Full Story...
