MONTGOMERY, Ala.- The Akron Zips softball team won its fourth consecutive game on the final day of the Alabama State Black and Gold Tournament with a 1-0 shutout victory over Fort Wayne on Sunday morning.

Host Charlotte scored in each of the first four innings and built a six-run seventh inning lead, but the Bowling Green State University softball team nearly came all the way back on Sunday afternoon (Feb. 19). The 49ers held on for a 7-3 win over the Falcons in the championship game of the First Pitch Classic.

MADEIRA BEACH, Fla. (EMUEagles.com) – Walks and errors proved costly as the Eastern Michigan University softball team dropped its final two games of opening weekend. The Eagles (3-3) squandered an early lead against Quinnipiac University, falling 4-3, in their first game of the day. In its last game of the weekend, a comeback push fell short, as EMU dropped the game, 4-1.

CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. – The Kent State softball team dropped a pair of games Sunday at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic, 4-0 to Saint Mary's and 8-7 to No. 22 California in a game that ended in the sixth inning as the result of a predetermined end time to allow the Golden Bears to travel back to Berkeley.
