DELAND, Fla. - The Akron Zips softball team earned its first win of the season with an 8-0 shutout of Savannah State during the second day of action at the Lead Off Classic. The Zips fell to host Stetson, 10-6 in the nightcap.

LAFAYETTE, La. - - The pitching was there and the offense came up with some timely hits, but the Ball State softball team fell victim to some untimely errors in losses to No. 11 Louisiana and Southern Miss Saturday evening on the second day of play in the 31st Annual Louisiana Classics at Lamson Park.

Bowling Green
The Bowling Green State University softball team got the 2017 season off to a successful start, to say the least. The Falcon offense pounded out a total of 19 hits, and BGSU pitchers fired matching two-hitters, as the Brown and Orange picked up wins over Cleveland State and Niagara on Saturday (Feb. 11). Both games were part of the CSU Dome Tournament, which is being played at the Krenzler Dome in downtown Cleveland.

MACON, Ga. – Senior Maddy Grimm collected four hits and drove in 10 runs to lead the way for Kent State in a pair of six-inning victories Saturday at the Mercer Invitational. The Golden Flashes won their second straight game by a score of 9-1 over Portland State to start the day and then slugged their way to a 14-5 win over Murray State.

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Following a difficult opening day of action at the Total Control Sports Invitational, Miami University’s softball team rebounded Saturday afternoon to sweep a doubleheader against IUPUI and Eastern Illinois in the second day of competition at The Dome.

COLUMBIA, S.C. -- The Ohio softball team (3-1) continued play at the Carolina Classic on Saturday (Feb. 11), sweeping the day's competition by defeating Charlotte by the final of 6-3 and then would down Presbyterian in the final game of the day, 3-0.
