Bulls Fall To No. 12 Cornell, 31-6
The University at Buffalo wrestling team fell to 12th-ranked Cornell, 31-6, on Monday night in an event billed "Mayhem on the Mainstage." For the first time in school history, the dual was held at the UB Center for the Arts, the campus' theatrical venue. A strong Cornell squad entered the dual with four wrestlers ranked in the Top 20. Starting at 184, 11th-ranked Max Dean earned a major decision over Brett Perry and Ben Honis took a 6-1 decision from Joe Ariola to quickly take a 7-0 lead. The Bulls battled back as Jake Gunning, ranked 20th in the nation at heavyweight, won his fifth straight dual with a 10-4 decision over Jeramy Sweany. Kyle Akins followed with a 3-0 decision over Mike Russo at 125 to cut the Cornell overall lead to 7-6.

Central Michigan:
Chippewas Complete Sweep of Purdue and SIU-Ewardsville
The Central Michigan wrestling team won 16 of 20 matches on Monday in sweeping a pair of nonconference duals at Purdue to close a road trip during which the Chippewas were dominant. The 23rd-ranked Chippewas won nine matches in downing Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, 42-3, and then won seven bouts in upending the 19th-ranked Boilermakers, 24-10. The double-dual sweep came two days after the Chippewas rolled to a 34-6 win over Northern Illinois in their Mid-American Conference opener. The weekend tally: CMU won 24 of 30 matches, and it scored bonus points in 14 of those 24 wins.

Huskies Drop Match At Old Dominion
The Northern Illinois University wrestling team suffered a 21-12 setback to Old Dominion in its second Mid-American Conference dual of the season Tuesday night. The Huskies got a spark from the lower weight-classes early in the dual. At 125, newly ranked Brock Hudkins defeated Michael McGee, 4-3. The Huskie sophomore nabbed his 10thwin of the season and his second MAC win of the year.

The Ohio wrestling team (0-4) continued the 2017-18 schedule suffering a close 22-19 loss to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (3-3) on Monday (Dec. 18) in Chattanooga, Tenn.

Old Dominion:
Final Bout Pin Propels Monarchs
A pin in the final bout by 285 pound Ali Wahab secured the Old Dominion (2-3, 1-1 MAC) victory over Northern Illinois (0-4, 0-2 MAC) 21-12. The Monarchs won six out of 10 bouts in the dual at the Ted Constant Center in front of over 270 fans. The Huskies won the first three bouts of the night over the Monarchs. No. 21 Michael McGee dropped a match to No. 20 Brock Hudkins, 4-3 in the first bout of the night. Following three straight losses, Kenan Carter won his match over Zack Velasquez, 10-4.
