Toledo 37, Western Michigan 10

TOLEDO, Ohio -- Toledo senior quarterback Logan Woodside threw for 300 yards and two touchdowns as Toledo cruised to a 37-10 victory over Western Michigan at the Glass Bowl Friday afternoon. The victory clinched the MAC West Division title for Toledo. The Rockets (10-2, 7-1 MAC) now advance to the MAC Championship Game vs. East Division champion Akron (7-5, 6-2 MAC) at Detroit's Ford Field on Saturday, Dec. 2 at Noon (ESPN). It will be Toledo's first appearance in the MAC Championship Game since 2004.
     
Woodside and senior running back Terry Swanson both reached personal milestones. Swanson, who rushed for 94 yards and scored two touchdowns, moved into fifth place on UT's career rushing list with 3,377 yards, passing David Fluellen (3,336 from 2010-13). Woodside became the first Rocket ever to throw for more than 10,000 yards. He now has 10,083 yards in his four years as a Rocket.  Full Story...

MT. PLEASANT, Mich. -- Central Michigan quarterback Shane Morris hit wide receiver Corey Willis with a 29-yard touchdown pass with 1:31 remaining on Friday as Central Michigan topped Northern Illinois, 31-24, in the Chippewas’ regular-season finale at Kelly/Shorts Stadium. It was the fifth consecutive win for Central Michigan, which is 8-4 overall, 6-2 MAC. The Chippewas, who tied the Huskies for second place in the MAC West, will await a bowl invitation that will be announced on Dec. 3. The eight wins is Central Michigan’s most since 2009.

Morris threw for 247 yards and three touchdowns as Central Michigan overcame a 17-0 halftime deficit to extend its win streak over NIU to four games. Morris' touchdown passes went to Willis, Mark Chapman and Jonathan Ward, and Ward ran 54 yards for a score early in the fourth quarter to put Central Michigan up 24-17. Full Story...

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The University at Buffalo football team gained bowl eligibility for just the third time in school history with a 31-24 win over Ohio on Friday afternoon at UB Stadium. The Bulls finished the regular season with a 6-6 record and will now wait to see if they are selected to play in a bowl game.  Buffalo quarterback Tyree Jackson threw for 294 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Bulls.

On a blustery day at UB Stadium, the Bulls jumped out on the Bobcats early, scoring 24 points in the first quarter. In fact, Buffalo scored 14 points in less than four minutes to start the game. It started with a 31-yard touchdown pass from the familiar connection of Tyree Jackson to Anthony Johnson to give the Bulls a 7-0 lead.  Full Story...
