Buffalo:
Bulls Split At Iowa Duals

The University at Buffalo wrestling team split a pair of duals on Friday at the Iowa City Duals hosted by the University at Iowa. The Bulls defeated Iowa Central, 30-15, and fell to seventh-ranked Iowa, 33-6.  The Bulls dominated Iowa Central. Kyle Akins kicked things off with a tech fall win at 125. Kobe Garrehy (157), Austin Weigel (174) and Brett Perry(184) also won by technical fall. 

Derek Holcomb earned his first pin of the season to get the victory. Jake Gunning won by major decision at 285.
Head Coach John Stutzman used this dual as an opportunity to try a couple guys in different weight classes. Justin Patrick, who wrestles at 125, competed at 133 and lost a close 6-5 decision. Bryan Lantry, ranked fifth in the nation at 133, went up a weight class and dropped a 4-0 decision at 141. Full Story...

Central Michigan:
Wrestling Falls At Virginia Tech

No. 9-ranked Virginia Tech won eight matches on Sunday in handing 17th-ranked Central Michigan a 26-6 loss in a dual at the Hokies' Cassell Coliseum. The Chippewas (1-1) will return to the mat for the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational on Dec. 1-2. Virginia Tech is 3-0. Central Michigan's victories came from Mason Smith (141) pounds and CJ Brucki (174). Smith, a sophomore who is ranked 20th, posted a convincing 6-0 win over redshirt freshman Brent Moore. Full Story...

Chippewa Wrestlers Roll In Dual Opener Over Michigan State

On a night when Central Michigan officially dedicated its wrestling room to two of the iconic names in program history, the Chippewas put their dominance on display. Central Michigan recorded two pins, a technical pin and two major decisions on Friday in rolling past Michigan State, 31-9, in its dual-meet opener at McGuirk Arena.

The 15th-ranked Chippewas recorded 20 takedowns while allowing just nine, and they finished with 24 back points and blanked the Spartans in that category en route to winning seven of the 10 matches. Plenty of Chippewas stepped up on the mat on Friday, including senior Jordan Ellingwood (184 pounds) and redshirt freshman Matt Stencel (285), both of whom recorded pins. Full Story...

Eagles Place Four At Keystone Classic

Eastern Michigan placed four wrestlers at the Keystone Classic Sunday, Nov. 19 inside the historic Palestra on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania. As a team, Eastern Michigan totaled 23 victories on its way to a sixth-place team finish with 77.5 points. Eastern Michigan's 15 grapplers were led by redshirt sophomore Noah Gonser who took runner-up honors at 133 lbs. and went 4-0 to get to the finals, including one major decision and one pin, before falling in the title bout in a thrilling 26-12 match. Full Story...

Kent State:
Four Flashes Place In Top Five At Navy Classic
Four Kent State wrestlers earned top five finishes at the 40th annual Navy Classic Saturday at Wesley Brown Field House.  The Golden Flashes finished ninth of 17 teams led by fourth place showings from junior 197-pounder Kyle Conel and junior 157-pounder Casey Sparkman. Junior 133-pounder Anthony Tutolo and redshirt freshman 141-pounder Nick Monico each went 5-1 on the day to claim fifth place.  Saturday's competition required advancement to the semifinals for a top four finish.

Missouri Wrestling Earns 10 Titles at Lindenwood Open

Wrestling in its first tournament as a team, No. 5 Mizzou Wrestling (4-0, 0-0 MAC) dominated the competition at the Lindenwood Open Saturday in St. Charles, Mo., claiming 10 individual titles on the day. Mizzou claimed six first-place finishes in the gold (open) division, and four in the black (freshman/sophomore) division. Redshirt senior 125-pounder Barlow McGhee (Rock Island, Ill.) snagged the second Lindenwood Open title of his career after winning the same title in 2015. McGhee won five matches on the day, including a 3-2 win over Christian Moody (Oklahoma) in the finals. Full Story...

Huskies Battle at Lindenwood Open 

The Northern Illinois wrestling team concludes its open schedule with a bang as three Huskies placed in the top three in their respective weight classes at the Lindenwood Open on Saturday. Freshman Breyden Bailey won the freshman and sophomore division at 141 by a 9-2 decision over Patrick Murphy of the University of Iowa. The Huskie freshman's ride to the championship included a major decision 8-0 victory over Bryce Sheffer of Southern Illinois at Edwardsville. Full Story...

Ohio:
Bobcats Take Seventh At Navy Classic
The Ohio wrestling team continued the 2017-18 season on Saturday (Nov. 18) at the 40th annual Navy Classic, finishing the day in seventh place with 69 points. Four Bobcats would finish the day in the top-5 of their weight classes. Junior Cameron Kelly would finish second in the 133-class. Kelly also finished second in last year's tournament as a sophomore. Full Story...

Old Dominion:
Monarchs With Three Finalists at Navy Classic
The Old Dominion wrestling team finished in third at the Navy Classic hosted by the United States Naval Academy. Michael McGee, Larry Early, and Alex Madrigal finished in second place, also having significant matches against nationally ranked wrestlers. Individually, Michael McGee defeated No. 25 Elijah Oliver from Indiana, who is a two-time NCAA Qualifier. McGee also topped Devin Schroder of Purdue, 5-1. McGee then lost in the finals to NCAA qualifier and No. 14 Luke Welch of Purdue.
