NIU 35, Western Michigan 31
Box Score
DeKALB, Ill. -- Northern Illinois running back Jordan Huff ran for 185 yards on 25 carries and defensive end Sutton Smith broke the NIU single season record for quarterback sacks and scored on a 58-yard fumble return, as Northern Illinois University came back from a fourth-quarter deficit to claim a 35-31 victory over Western Michigan Wednesday night at Huskie Stadium.

NIU improved to 8-3 overall, 6-1 in the MAC, while Western Michigan fell to 6-4, 4-3.  NIU remains alive in its hunt for a MAC West title with one game remaining. The Huskies wrap up the regular season with a game next Friday, Nov. 24, at Central Michigan. Three of Western Michigan's four touchdowns Wednesday came on short drives after NIU miscues gave WMU the ball inside the Huskie 25-yard line, including on two muffed punts and a fumble.  A 20-mile-per-hour sustained wind limited the passing game and affected special teams – both kicking and returns – on both sides. Full Story...

Eastern Michigan 27, Miami 24
Box Score
OXFORD, Ohio -- Eastern Michigan once again had a tight, one-possession game, but this time the Eagles (4-7, 2-5 MAC) flipped the script in a 27-24 win over Miami on Wednesday evening, Nov. 15, at Yager Stadium. It was the first win for Eastern Michigan over the RedHawks (4-7, 3-4 MAC) since 1993, a span of 10 games. Overall, it was the eighth game of the season that was within one score for the Eagles at the time of the final buzzer, and just the second win in such games this season. Eastern Michigan's last one-score win was the 16-13 victory over Rutgers in the second game of the season.

Eastern Michigan was stout in all facets of the game, out-gaining the RedHawks, 454-392, including 185 on the ground and 269 through the air. The two teams tied in turnovers, 2-2, but Eastern's defensive pressure proved to be a huge difference maker, as they had five tackles for loss, including four sacks, three of which came from sophomore Maxx Crosby. He upped his team-best total to 11 on the season, tying the single-season school record set by Avery Brown back in 1996.  Offensively, senior quarterback Brogan Roback set another program record as his 269 yards passing helped him pass Walter Church for the career total offense record at Eastern Michigan. He now has the program standard with 8,811 career total yards of offense. In addition to the yards, he added onto his school touchdown pass record with two more, as well as adding one on the ground, the fifth rushing score of his career.  Full Story...

Toledo 66, Bowling Green 37
Box Score
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- Toledo senior Terry Swanson rushed for a career-high 192 yards and redshirt freshman Shakif Seymour tied a school record with five touchdowns as Toledo rolled to a 66-37 victory over Bowling Green in the Battle of I-75 in Bowling Green Wednesday night. It was the Rockets' eighth-consecutive win over BGSU and the most points Toledo has scored against its arch-rival since a 63-0 triumph in 1935.

The victory put Toledo (9-2, 6-1 MAC) in position to earn its first trip in 13 years to the Mid-American Conference Championship Game. With a win over Western Michigan at the Glass Bowl on Nov. 24, the Rockets would clinch at least a tie with Northern Illinois (8-3, 6-1 MAC) for the MAC West Division title. Toledo would advance to the title game vs. the East Division champion by tie-breaker due its 27-17 victory over Northern Illinois on Nov. 2.

Bowling Green gave the Rockets a battle in the first half, trailing only by a field goal, 24-21, at intermission. But a four-touchdown barrage by Toledo in the third quarter gave the Midnight Blue and Gold a comfortable 52-28 edge heading into the fourth quarter. Toledo outgained Bowling Green in total offense, 637-389. While Swanson and company were racking up big chunks of yards on the ground, senior Logan Woodside efficiently piled up 232 yards on 13-of-18 passing. Woodside also threw for a pair of touchdowns, giving him 87 for his career and breaking the Toledo record of 85 previously held by Bruce Gradkowski (2002-05). Full Story...
