BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Western Michigan running back Jarvion Franklin's 12-yard touchdown run in the seventh overtime session provided the Broncos a 71-68 win over Buffalo at UB Stadium on Saturday evening. The historic win ended an epic back-and-forth contest that witnessed 139 combined total points, 19 touchdowns, 1,328 yards of total offense and seven overtime periods.

TOLEDO, Ohio -- Toledo senior quarterback Logan Woodside threw for 289 yards and sophomore safety Kahlil Robinson intercepted two passes to lead Toledo to a 20-15 victory over Eastern Michigan at the Glass Bowl on Saturday. Robinson, starting in his first game as a collegian, picked off his second pass at the Toledo 31-yard line with 55 seconds left in the game to snuff out a last-minute Eagle rally and clinch the Rocket victory.
Woodside completed 23-of-34 passes on the day. His top target was sophomore Diontae Johnson, who caught eight passes for 97 yards. Sophomore Art Thompkins, starting in place of the injured Terry Swanson, led the rushing attack with 94 yards on 15 carries.

ATHENS, Ohio -- Central Michigan tight end Tyler Conklin made his 2017 debut a memorable one on Saturday as he made 10 catches for 136 yards – both career highs -- and two touchdowns in leading the Chippewas to a 26-23 victory over Ohio before 23,570 at Peden Stadium. The win snapped a three-game losing streak and was the Chippewas’ first in the MAC this season. CMU is 3-3, 1-1 league. The Chippewas ended Ohio’s three-game win streak. The Bobcats are 4-2, 1-1.
Conklin, who missed the Chippewas’ first five games with a foot injury, made is presence felt almost immediately. His first catche went for 19 yards on the Chippewas’ first possession, which ended in a 16-yard Conklin touchdown catch from quarterback Shane Morris.

OXFORD, Ohio -- Brandon Harris returned a fumble 93 yards for a touchdown late in the fourth quarter, lifting the Bowling Green State University football team to a 37-29 win over Miami University Saturday afternoon in Oxford. Bowling Green quarterback James Morgan threw for 222 yards and three touchdowns and Teo Redding had a career-high 197 receiving yards and two touchdowns in the win.

DeKALB, Ill. -- On a rainy, windy day at Huskie Stadium, the Northern Illinois University Huskies relied on a dominating defensive performance to earn a 24-3 Mid-American Conference victory over Kent State. The Huskies allowed the Golden Flashes to earn just 131 yards in the game, 102 rushing and 29 passing, while giving up only nine first downs. Kent State converted just two-of-16 first downs a week after NIU held San Diego State to just one-of-14 conversions.
Shawun Lurry, Jawuan Johnson and Bobby Jones IV intercepted passes in the game. Johnson led the Huskies with 12 tackles, two for loss, while Sutton Smith had a career high 10 tackles with three sacks and four tackles for loss. The Huskies totaled six sacks, the most by an NIU defense since the 2013 season.

AKRON, Ohio -- Akron football entered the second half with a 14-point advantage and tacked on 14 more points en route to a 31-3 win over Ball State during Saturday's Homecoming game at InfoCision Stadium– Summa Field. With the win, the Zips moved to 2-0 in Mid-American Conference play and 3-3 overall, while Ball State fell to 0-2 in the MAC and 2-4 overall.
Senior QB Thomas Woodson completed 17 passes for 211 yards with two touchdowns. Senior WR A.J. Coney hauled in six passes for a team-best 90 yards, while junior WR Kwadarrius Smith caught three passes for 74 yards and a touchdown and senior WR Austin Wolf was targeted four times for 57 yards and a touchdown.
