KENT, Ohio – The Kent State gymnastics team showed great improvement from its season opener just six days earlier and defeated Western Michigan, 195.525-193.750, in Friday's home opener at the M.A.C. Center. The Golden Flashes improved their overall score by 2.550 points to earn a victory in the Mid-American Conference opener, while the Broncos fell to 1-4 overall and 0-2 in conference despite posting their highest score of the season.

KENT, Ohio – The Western Michigan gymnastics team turned in its best performance of the season on Friday night at Kent State, scoring a 193.750. Senior Anna Corbett had her best all-around performance of the year with a 39.000 which included her third straight vault title after scoring a 9.825.

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University women's gymnastics team dominated in their first Mid-American Conference meet of the season, defeating the Central Michigan Chippewas on the road today, Jan. 20, by a final score of 195.925 – 194.650. Eastern led from start to finish, and tied the team record on bars with an incredible 49.225.

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Jerry Reighard gathered his gymnasts before their final rotation, the meet all but over.
Reighard’s Central Michigan gymnast delivered an outstanding performance in that final event, the floor exercise, but the hole was simply too deep, the result of subpar performances leading up to the finale.
