23 Student-Athletes Set for NCAA Track & Field Championships

EUGENE, Ore. -  The Mid-American Conference will be represented by 23 student-athletes in 12 events at the 2016 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon. The four-day competition begins on June 8th at Hayward Field at the University of Oregon.

The NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be broadcasted live on the ESPN networks. Wednesday's events will be aired on ESPNU from 7:30-8:30 pm and on ESPN2 from 8:30-11 pm. Coverage continues on Thursday at 7:30-8 pm. on ESPNU and from 8-10:30 pm on ESPN 8:30-11 pm. Action from Friday will begin at 8:30 pm. on ESPN and run through 11 pm. Saturday's championships are set to be on ESPN from 6:30-9 pm. Additional live coverage of field events can be found on ESPN3: Wednesday at 3:30 pm, Thursday 1:30 pm, Friday at 3:30 pm, and Saturday at 2:30 pm. *all times are Eastern


Akron
A program-best 11 student-athletes are set to represent the University of Akron track and field program at this week's NCAA Outdoor Championships this Wednesday, June 8, through Saturday, June 11, at historic Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.

Redshirt sophomore Aliyah Gustafson is one of 24 student-athletes who will compete for a national championship in the shot put Thursday evening at historic Hayward Field on the campus of the University of Oregon.

Eastern Michigan Men
The Eastern Michigan University men's track and field team will conclude their season this week with the NCAA Championships, June 8-11. The Eagles will have a pair of athletes competing throughout the four-day meet in Eugene, Oregon.

Eastern Michigan Women
After taking home the Mid-American Conference Triple Crown by winning the outdoor title, the Eastern Michigan University women's track and field team will wrap up their 2016 campaign with the NCAA Championships this week, June 8-11. The Eagles had a trio of athletes qualify to compete in two different events throughout the four-day meet.

Kent State
Four members of Kent State's track and field programs are set to compete in the 2016 NCAA Outdoor National Championships in Eugene, Oregon at Historic Hayward Field at the University of Oregon. The four Golden Flashes bound for Eugene are Jackie Leppelmeier (hammer throw), Reggie Jagers III (discus), Jesse Oxley (pole vault) and Donovan Tolbert (triple jump).

Toledo
Senior Kyesha Neal and senior Liz Weiler will represent Toledo at the 2016 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships on June 9-11. Neal will throw in the discus finals on Saturday, June 11 at 6:30 p.m. and Weiler will run in the 3,000m steeplechase on Thursday, June 9 at 5:02 p.m. The finals of the event will take place on Saturday, June 11 at 3:54 p.m.
