Akron: Akron secured the 2015-16 MAC Regular Season Championship, No. 1 Seed in MAC Tournament, and East Division Title with a 91-76 win over Ohio. The Zips set a pair of all-time records with 20 made 3-pointers in a game and 43 attempts (March 1). Akron is 23-8 in the MAC Tournament under head coach Keith Dambrot, going 17-4 in its last 21 tournament games. In 12 years under head coach Keith Dambrot, the Zips have won at least one game in the MAC Tournament every year. The Zips own a 20-8 record at Quicken Loans Arena...Four Zips are scoring in double figures, and six players have connected from downtown on at least 35 occasions with five posting 50+ triples this season. The Zips have made at least one 3-pointer in 510 straight games and have a program-best 369 made 3-pointers this season...Akron is ranked No. 2 in the NCAA for 3-point field goal defense and No. 86 for field-goal percentage defense while claiming the top spot in the MAC for 3-point FG defense and third in FG defense. 
 
Eastern Michigan: For the fourth consecutive season, Head Coach Rob Murphy and his squad will head to Cleveland, Ohio to compete as one of the final eight teams in the 2016 Mid-American Conference Tournament. Since 2011-12, when the Eagles were knocked out of the first round, EMU has advanced until at least the quarterfinal round each of the last four seasons, including a run to the semifinal round during the 2013-14 campaign. That was the first time Eastern had made the semifinals since the 1997-98 season...For the first time since Lorenzo Neely earned the award in the 1987-88 season, Eastern Michigan can announce that it houses the MAC Freshman of the Year. Thompson was named the conference's top freshman following earning All-MAC Second Team and All-MAC Freshman Team accolades. Thompson is just the second Eagle to have won the award.

Central Michigan: The Chippewas will be playing for the first time since their regular season finale on Mar. 4 on Thursday afternoon, as CMU finished fourth in the league overall to earn a first round bye. CMU is led by All-MAC First-Team selection Chris Fowler who leads the team with 16.8 points, 5.9 assists and 1.3 steals per game on the season. He is shooting 45.2 percent from the field overall and 80.1 percent from the free throw line. Third-Team All-MAC recipient Braylon Rayson is averaging 16.2 points per game on the season and has poured in a team-high 485 points overall on the year for the Chippewas. The Chips' supporting cast includes Rayshawn Simmons, who is averaging 12.4 points per game and has a team-high 159 assists on the season, John Simons, who leads the team in rebounding at 6.9 boards per contest and is scoring at 9.8 points per game, and Luke Meyer, who is averaging 8.4 points per game and is shooting 57.3 percent from the field overall for the year.
 
Bowling Green: The Falcons got off to a great start to the "New Season" with a 70-69 road win over #5 Kent State in the first round of the 2016 MAC Men's Basketball Championship Tournament presented by VisitMyrtleBeach.com on Monday night, Mar. 7. Since the 1999 MAC Tournament, when every team made the postseason conference championship tournament, the Falcons have been the No. 12 seed just once prior to this year back in 2007. As the No. 12 seed in 2007, the Falcons fell to the No. 5 Ohio Bobcats 69-59 in the first round held at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. Bowling Green is 0-2 versus the Central Michigan Chippewas all-time in the MAC Championship Tournament. The Falcons lost a quarterfinals game back in 2003 to the Chippewas 87-70 in what was then Gund Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.

Ohio: Junior forward Antonio Campbell (Cincinnati, Ohio) has been named the 2016 Mid-American Conference Player of the Year, as announced by the league office on Wednesday (March 9). Campbell was named a 2016 First Team All-MAC selection while redshirt sophomore guard Jaaron Simmons earned Second Team All-MAC selection and guard Jordan Dartis (Newark, Ohio) garnered a spot on the All-MAC Freshman Team, as announced by the league office on Monday (March 7). Campbell, Simmons and Dartis all garner conference honors for the first times in their careers. Campbell becomes Ohio's first First Team All-MAC selection since D.J. Cooper earned recognition in 2013. Dartis is Ohio's first All-MAC Freshman Team pick since Nick Kellogg in 2011.
 
Northern Illinois: NIU’s 21 victories are the most for the Huskies since the 1990-91 season when the Huskies won a school-record 25 games. NIU’s 21 wins are also tied for the second-most in a single-season in school history. The Huskies are 1-7 all-time in MAC Tournament games played in Quicken Loans Arena. NIU’s only win in Cleveland came on March 13, 2003 when the Huskies defeated Western Michigan, 75-63, in the quarterfinals...The NIU freshmen class of Marshawn Wilson, Jaylen Key, Austin Pauga, Laytwan Porter and Levi Bradley have combined to score 38.7 percent of NIU’s total points this season.

Buffalo: The Bulls ended the regular season with an 87-83 come from behind win over Bowling Green on Friday and got some help around the league to finish as the #3 seed in the tournament, the third straight year with a bye.  Miami has won four of its last five games including a first round game at Ball State on Monday 49-47 following two late Eric Washington free throws. The Bulls placed four members on the postseason All-MAC Teams as Blake Hamilton and Lamonte Bearden were both named to the All-MAC Third Team, while CJ Massinburg was named to the All-MAC Freshman Team.  Junior Willie Conner was selected for the inaugural All-MAC Defensive Team.?

Miami: Behind a thrilling 49-47 win at No. 6 seed Ball State on Monday, the Miami University men’s basketball team advances to the Mid-American Conference Tournament Quarterfinals in Cleveland on Thursday, March 10 to face the No. 3 seed Buffalo Bulls. Winners of four of their last five, the No. 11 seed RedHawks try to carry their momentum into Cleveland this week...Senior guards Eric Washington and Geovonie McKnight earned Mid-American Conference postseason honors, being named to the honorable mention team. Washington was named MAC East Division Player of the Week on Feb. 29 for his efforts against in wins against Akron and Kent State. This is the second conference award for Washington, who was a second-team honoree last season, and the first for McKnight.
