Zips Fall In Close Match To Cleveland State

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The University of Akron women's tennis team fell in a close 4-3 midweek decision to Cleveland State on Saturday evening at the Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion. UA (9-4) took three singles matches against the Vikings but came up short in doubles play.  Full Story...

Zips Fall At East Tennessee State, 5-2

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. — The University of Akron women's tennis team dropped a 5-2 effort against East Tennessee State on Friday afternoon at the Cedar Bluff Racket Club. With the loss, Akron fell to 9-2 overall while ETSU improved to a faultless 10-0. Despite not dropping a match, the Bucs recently fell out of the ITA rankings, where they were placed 73rd overall.  Full Story...

Ball State:
Cardinals Earn 6-1 Win Over South Dakota

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Ball State women's tennis extended its win streak to seven with the Cardinals 6-1 win over South Dakota Tuesday afternoon in Orlando, Fla. In doubles, Ball State's Julia Sbircea and Toni Ormond took down South Dakota's Emma Kranendonk and Ellie Burns, 6-4 on the top court.  The Cardinals then clinched the point after Carmen Blanco along with doubles partner Bethany Mooreearned a 7-5 victory over Elise van Zijst and Milica Pavlovic. Full Story...

Women's Tennis Earns 4-3 Victory Over Cincinnati

MUNCIE, Ind. - Sophomore Julia Sbircea clinched the Cardinals come from behind 4-3 win against Cincinnati Friday night in the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center.  Ball State fell behind early to Cincinnati after the Bearcats took the doubles point from the Cardinals.  Carmen Blancoand Rosalinda Calderon were the first Ball State two some off the court after losing a 6-2 decision to Cincinnati's Lauren Bellinger and Ali Miller at the No. 1 position.  But Toni Ormond and Julia Sbircea evened the doubles competition on court two with their 6-2 defeat over Harley Hutchinson and Samantha Perry.  The Bearcats would then take the point from the Cardinals after posting a 6-3 victory over Audrey Berger and Peyton Gollhofer at the No. 3 position.  Full Story...

Bowling Green:
Falcons Fall To Richmond, 6-1

Orlando, Fla. – Bowling Green State University tennis freshman Polina Radeva won at the No. 1 singles spot for the Falcons, but the University of Richmond captured the match, 6-1, Monday afternoon at the Star Island Tennis Facility.  The Spiders won the doubles point and used the momentum in singles to secure the victory over the Falcons.  Full Story...

Bulls Lose 6-1 To Iowa State

MINNEAPOLIS, MN – The University at Buffalo women's tennis team concluded their two-match swing in the Twin Cities with a 6-1 loss to Iowa State of the Big 12 on Saturday afternoon.  The Bulls are now 6-4 on the year.  The win for Iowa State was its ninth straight this year.  Full Story...

Huskies Rise Over Phoenix, 6-1

ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University women’s tennis team posted one of its biggest victories of the season on Saturday afternoon, defeating Green Bay by a 6-1 margin at the Boylan Tennis Center in Rockford, Ill.  The Huskies (5-4) now have a winning record again this season after a dominating win over the Phoenix (0-7) as NIU recorded its fourth 6-1 victory of the 2016 spring season, matching previous triumphs over North Dakota, Lewis and Chicago State.  Full Story...

Women's Tennis Falls At Cal State-Northridge, 4-3

PALOS VERDES, Calif. -- The Western Michigan women's tennis team had its three-match winning streak snapped by California State-Northridge Sunday afternoon at the Kramer Club as the Matadors came away with a 4-3 win.
