Women's Tennis Falls To Western Michigan, 4-3
AKRON, Ohio — The University of Akron women's tennis team fell in a close 4-3 Mid-American Conference decision against Western Michigan on Sunday afternoon at the LaTuchie Tennis Center. Akron (13-7, 3-1 MAC) trailed Western Michigan (14-6, 3-1 MAC) early after dropping the doubles point, with losses at the first and second flights. The Zips then battled hard throughout singles play but came up short, claiming three out of the six matches.

Zips Sweep NIU On The Road, 7-0
ROCKFORD, Ill. — The University of Akron women's tennis team earned a 7-0 sweep over Northern Illinois on Friday, April 1 at the Boylan Tennis Center. The Zips (13-6, 3-0 MAC) claimed two doubles matches while sweeping all six singles matches against NIU. Sophomores Sophia Geier (Burgebrach, Germany) and Carli Knezevich (Austin, Texas) captured a 6-4 victory over Abigail Dekkinga and Michelle Erasmus at No. 2 doubles while senior Martina Zerbola (Neuquen, Argentina) and partner Ariadna Blinova (Riga, Latvia) defeated the No. 3 duo of Cristina Alvarez and Meghan Montgomerie, 6-1.

Ball State:
Cardinals Remain Perfect In MAC Play
YPSILANTI, Mich. - The Ball State women's tennis team remained undefeated in Mid-American Conference action after its 5-2 defeat at Eastern Michigan Sunday afternoon at the Chippewa Club. With the win, the Cardinals improve their overall record to 17-2. The 17 wins ties the programs all-time record for most wins in a season. Ball State also improved to 4-0 in league action while extended its win streak to 14. Eastern Michigan falls to 3-13 for the year and 0-3 in conference play.

Women's Tennis Wins 4-3 Thriller Over Miami
MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State women's tennis team defeated the Miami RedHawks 4-3 Friday at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center. The Cardinals improve to 16-2 and 3-0 in the Mid-American Conference, while Miami falls to 5-9 overall and 0-1 in league action. With the win, the Cardinals defeat Miami for only the third time in program history. The last time Ball State defeated the RedHawks was in 2012-13 by a score of 4-3 under former head coach Christine Bader. Ball State also extends its win streak to 13 and is two wins shy of from breaking the program record which is 17.

Falcons Fall To Rockets, 6-1
Maumee, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University tennis team was defeated by the University of Toledo in the Battle of I-75, 6-1, Friday afternoon at the Shadow Valley Tennis Club. The Rockets were solid in doubles play picking up the point over BGSU. The Falcons' senior Drew Fillis and freshman Paula Comella were leading Emily Mazzola and Sidnay Huck, 5-4, but the match was halted when UT clinched the doubles point with wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 slots.

Women's Tennis Falls To Western Michigan In First Home Loss
WILLIAMSVILLE, NY – The University at Buffalo women's tennis team was defeated at home for the first time this season on Friday afternoon as the Bulls lost to Western Michigan, 5-2. The loss drops UB to 10-5 on the year and 2-1 in MAC play. Western Michigan got off to a quick start in doubles play with wins at second and third doubles to claim the first point of the match.

Eagles Fall To Ball State, 5-2
YPSILANTI, Mich. – The Eastern Michigan University tennis team dropped its third straight Sunday, April 3, when it hosted Ball State University at the Chippewa Racquet Club for a Mid-American Conference dual match. The Eagles (3-13, 0-3 MAC) dropped the doubles point and were able to salvage two of the five singles matches, falling, 5-2, to the Cardinals (16-2, 3-0).

Women's Tennis Gets First MAC Win
TOLEDO, Ohio – Miami University’s women’s tennis team picked up its first Mid-American Conference victory Sunday afternoon with a 6-1 win over the Toledo Rockets, breaking a five-match losing streak. The RedHawks (6-9, 1-1 MAC) used a doubles sweep and six straight-sets victories in singles to top the Rockets (7-10, 1-3 MAC).

RedHawks Drop MAC Opener At Ball State, 4-3
MUNCIE, Ind. – Following an opening doubles victory, Miami University’s women’s tennis team was unable to seal a victory in its Mid-American Conference opener, falling, 4-3, to Ball State University Friday afternoon at the Cardinal Creek Tennis Center. The Cardinals (16-2, 3-0 MAC) used four singles victories, including a comeback win at No. 1 singles to earn their first triumph over the RedHawks (5-9, 0-1 MAC) since 2013. Despite the loss, Miami took two comeback victories in the singles competition.

Huskies Bested By Akron
ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University women’s tennis team dropped a Mid-American Conference dual to league-leading Akron on Friday afternoon at the Boylan Tennis Center. The Huskies (6-9, 1-2 MAC) were defeated by the Zips (13-6, 3-0 MAC) by a scoreline of 7-0 after the match was moved indoors to Rockford due to rain in DeKalb on Friday.

Rockets Drop 6-1 Decision To Miami
TOLEDO, OH – Toledo dropped its Sunday match to Miami, 6-1, at Shadow Valley Tennis Club. With the loss, the Rockets drop to 7-10 overall and 1-3 in the conference. Freshman Claire Aleck claimed the only victory for the Rockets. Aleck defeated Erin Rodriguez, 7-6, 6-3, at sixth singles.

TOLEDO, OH – The Toledo women's tennis team downed Bowling Green, 6-1, in the Battle of I-75. The Rockets improve to 7-9 on the season and 1-2 in MAC play. The Rockets nearly swept the board today, starting with doubles play. Lauren Thai and Megan Miller paired up at the No. 2 spot and walked away with a 6-4 victory. Claire Aleck and Rani Goodland posted a 6-0 sweep at No. 3.

Broncos Hand Buffalo First Home Loss
BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Western Michigan women's tennis team downed Buffalo 5-2 on the road Friday afternoon, handing the Bulls their first home loss of the season. The Broncos improved to 13-6 overall, 2-1 in the MAC and have now won six of their last nine matches. The Bulls, who came in 7-0 at home, fall to 10-6 overall and 2-1 in the MAC.
