Women's Tennis Starts MAC Play With 5-2 Win
YPSILANTI, Mich. — The University of Akron women's tennis team opened the Mid-American Conference portion of their season with a 5-2 victory over Eastern Michigan on Friday afternoon at the Wasik Tennis Complex. The Zips improved to 11-6 overall and 1-0 in MAC play, while the Eagles fell to 3-11 on the season and 0-1 in conference action.

Kalamazoo, Mich. – The Bowling Green State University tennis team suffered its second loss in conference play, 6-1, to the Broncos of Western Michigan Sunday at Sorenson Courts. The Broncos took an early lead capturing the doubles point and came up big in singles to pull off the victory.

YPSILANTI, Mich. -- Eastern Michigan University's tennis team fell on Sunday, March 27, to the University at Buffalo, in its second match of the Mid-American Conference's opening weekend. The Eagles (3-12, 0-2 MAC) dropped their second-straight match in MAC play, after EMU was unable to secure the doubles point, the Bulls took four of the singles matches.

MOBILE, Ala. -- After earning an opening doubles victory, Miami University's women's tennis team was unable to pick up its first victory in its last four outings, falling 4-3 to No. 61 Old Dominion in its non-conference finale Friday afternoon at the University of South Alabama's Bruce David Lubel Memorial Tennis Courts. The Monarchs (10-5) used three straight-sets victories in the singles competition to earn their third consecutive win, while the RedHawks (5-8) were able to secure two matches in the event.

Women's Tennis Falls 5-2 at South Alabama
MOBILE, Ala. – Miami University’s women’s tennis team was unable to overcome an early stretch of defeats in a 5-2 loss to No. 45 South Alabama Wednesday afternoon at the Bruce David Lubel Memorial Tennis Courts. The Jaguars (15-4) clinched their 14th victory in their last 15 outings with three singles victories before the RedHawks (5-7) picked up two late wins. In doubles, sophomores Nelli Ponomareva and Anastasiia Vasiukhina tied the competition with their 6-3 second-flight victory against Cinta Maria Papke and Alexandria Stiteler, but the Jaguars used wins at first and third-flights to seal the opening point.

Women's Tennis Drops Decision To Akron
Akron, OH – Toledo was defeated by Akron, 5-2, on Sunday afternoon. The Rockets fall to 6-9 overall and 0-2 in the MAC. The Rockets jumped on the board first by winning the doubles point. Senior Emily Mazzola and sophomore Sidnay Huck defeated Akron's Karalina Maksimava and Shannon Newnes, 6-2, at the No. 1 spot. Senior Lauren Thai and sophomore Megan Miller tallied the second doubles win at No. 3 with a 6-4 victory over Martina Zerbola and Luisa Echeverry.

Women's Tennis Falls On The Road At Ball State
KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan women's tennis team opened the Mid-American Conference (MAC) season on the road with a tough Ball State team Friday afternoon and the Cardinals came out victorious 4-3 with the match coming right down to the end. The Broncos fall to 11-6 overall and 0-1 in the MAC while the Cardinals improved to 13-2 and 1-0 in the MAC.
