Zips Edge UIC, 4-3
CHICAGO, Ill. — The University of Akron women's tennis team claimed another nail biting 4-3 victory this weekend, this time over Illinois-Chicago on Saturday afternoon at the XS Tennis Center. Akron (6-1) trailed 2-0 after dropping the doubles point, with losses at the first and second flights, and giving up No. 6 singles. However, the Zips bounced back after taking four of the next five matches.

Women's Tennis Gets By Milwaukee, 4-3
MILWAUKEE, Wis. — The University of Akron women's tennis team posted a close 4-3 victory at Milwaukee on Friday evening at the North Shore Elite Tennis Club. The Zips improved to 5-1 overall, while the Panthers fell to 3-3 on the season. Akron was able to come out with the doubles point after the teams split the first two matches. Sophomore Sophia Geier (Burgebrach, Germany) and partner Shannon Newnes (Romford, London) battled through a 7-6 (6) win over UWM's Laurie Clark and Alysa Straub to give the Zips an early lead.

Cardinals Drop Western Kentucky, 5-2
MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State women's tennis team closed out its weekend with a 5-2 victory over Western Kentucky Sunday afternoon in the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center. With the win, the Cardinals improved their overall spring record to 4-2 while the Hilltoppers fall to 1-3 overall.

Women's Tennis Drops 4-3 Match To Southern Illinois
MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State women's tennis team lost a hard fought battle to Southern Illinois Saturday afternoon in the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center. The Cardinals fell 4-3 to the Salukis despite dominating doubles play.

Bowling Green:
Women's Tennis Falls To IUPUI, 4-3
Indianapolis, Ind. – The Bowling Green State University tennis team lost a close match to the IUPUI Jaguars Sunday morning, 4-3. The Falcons won the doubles point, but the Jaguars rallied back in singles play picking up four victories. At No. 1 doubles, senior Drew Fillis and freshman Paula Comella Aguilo kept their winning streak alive defeating Samantha Mayer and Sara Sherif, 6-1. The win was the fourth straight for Fillis and Aguilo, who are now 6-2 this season.

Falcons Fall At Cleveland State, 5-2
Cleveland, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University tennis team traveled to Cleveland, Ohio to take on the Vikings of Cleveland State University. Despite winning the doubles point the Falcons fell to the Vikings, 5-2 at the Paramount Tennis Club Friday. At No. 1 doubles, senior Drew Fillis and freshman Paula Comella Aguilo won their third straight match, downing Isabella Spindler and Aleksandra, 6-2. Fillis and Aguilo have earned their fifth win of the season and 12th overall.

Buffalo:
Women's Tennis Sweeps Niagara
WILLIAMSVILLE, NY – The University at Buffalo, The State University of New York women's tennis team picked up its second sweep of the weekend on Saturday as the Bulls defeated Niagara 7-0 to improve to 4-0 on the year. In doubles action, UB got a victory from Laura Holterboschand Christine Haraldson at third doubles, 6-1 and then almost simultaneously picked up wins at one and two. Tanja Stojanovska and Chantal Martinez Blanco won 6-3 at first doubles and Dayana Agasieva and Margarita Kotok won at second doubles, 6-2.

Bulls Sweep ASA College
WILLIAMSVILLE, NY – The University at Buffalo, The State University of New York women's tennis team remained undefeated on Friday afternoon with a 7-0 victory over ASA College. The victory improves the Bulls to 3-0 in dual action. The Bulls got off to a quick start to the competition with a pair of wins in doubles. The number two team of Tanja Stojanovska and Chantal Martinez Blanco won their contest 6-1 and then the number one team of Margarita Kotok and Dayana Agasieva won 6-3 to clinch the point.

Women's Tennis Falls 7-0 To Wake Forest
YPSILANTI, Mich. -- Eastern Michigan University's tennis team fell Saturday, Feb. 13, as Wake Forest University traveled from Winston-Salem, N.C. to take on EMU at the Chippewa Racquet Club. The Demon Deacons (9-0) swept the Eagles (2-7), 7-0, without dropping a set through the entire dual match.

Eagles Handed 7-0 Loss By Xavier
YPSILANTI, Mich. – The Eastern Michigan University tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to Xavier University Friday, Feb. 12, when the Eagles (2-5) welcomed the Musketeers (5-2) to the Chippewa Racquet Club in Ypsilanti. Despite cruising to a 6-3 victory in the No. 1 doubles match to open the dual, the Green and White was unable to pick up a win in the remainder of the match.

RedHawks Take Down No. 55 Marshall, 4-3
HAMILTON, Ohio -- Sophomore Nelli Ponomareva's comeback fourth-flight win helped Miami University's women's tennis team complete a 4-3 victory over 55th-ranked Marshall University Sunday morning at the Riverside Athletic Club. Ponomareva overcame a 6-1 first-set loss to take the final two sets at 6-3, from Maddie Silver. The result clinched the third victory over a ranked opponent in Yana S. Carollo's tenure at Miami and the team's first win against the Thundering Herd since 2012.

Huskes Earn 4-3 Win at Milwaukee
DeKALB, Ill. – Cristina Alvarez became the 13th player in school history to earn the 100th combined victory of her collegiate career as the senior Spaniard led the Northern Illinois University women’s tennis team to a narrow victory on Saturday afternoon at Milwaukee. Alvarez (Zaragoza, Spain/Cristorey and Sagrado Corazon de Jesus) finished the match for the Huskies (3-3) by winning her No. 2 singles contest against Hayley Marshall of Milwaukee, 6-4, 6-4, lifting NIU to a 4-3 team victory over the Panthers (3-4) on the road.
