MOBILE, Ala. — Ohio redshirt senior wide receiver Jordan Reid put an exclamation point on his career by catching a career-high 12 receptions for 162 yards as the Ohio football team (8-6) dropped a 28-23 decision to Troy (10-3) at the 2016 Dollar General Bowl Friday at Ladd-Peebles Stadium.
The Bobcats outgained Troy 393-322 including holding Troy to 87 yards rushing, it marked the sixth time this season that the Ohio defense has held an opponent to under 100-rushing yards.
Windham finished the game going 23-47 for 315 passing yards and led Ohio on the ground rushing 10 times for 24 yards. Windham had touchdown passes to Reid and RS sophomore Papi White. Windham recorded five turnovers in the outing throwing four interceptions and fumbled the ball once.
RS freshman kicker Louie Zervos went 3-4 (33, 47, 47, 34) on field goals including hitting a 47-yarder which was the longest in Dollar General Bowl history.
RS senior linebacker Blair Brown led Ohio with 12 total tackles while RS senior Toran Davis picked off two interceptions, a career best.
The Ohio defense recorded its 44th sack of the season and with seven tackles for loss pushed its total to 88, which moved them into third in Bobcats history.
