Kent, Ohio -- No. 1 seed Kent State has advanced to tomorrow's MAC Championship match following today's 2-1 win over No. 4 Ball State. The Golden Flashes will take on No. 2 Miami with the match at 2 p.m tomorrow for the conference title.

The Golden Flashes will face No. 2 Miami, who beat No. 3 Longwood 3-2 in double overtime, on Saturday at 2 p.m. for the championship.  It will be a rematch of last year's tournament final when Kent State won 3-2 in double overtime.

It took 14 minutes for the scoring to get started as Madison Thompsonconnected on a shot deflection to put the Flashes up 1-0.  Five minutes before the half, Shannon Talbot passed the ball in from the right for Alison Harmatz to put away for her 14th goal of the season and the would-be game-winner.

Ball State's lone tally came on a penalty stroke awarded at the 65:46 mark.  The Cardinals only had five shots  and no corners in the game while Andrea Rinehart had two saves in net as the Flashes' defense remained sharp.
