KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Western Michigan completed the regular season with a perfect 12-0 record after a 55-35 win over Toledo on Friday evening at Waldo Stadium.  Western Michigan wins the MAC West Division and will face the Ohio Bobcats on Friday, Dec. 2 at Ford Field in Detroit. For the Broncos, this will be the first appearance in Detroit for a neutral site Marathon MAC Football Championship, and its first appearance in a MAC Football Championship since the 2000 season, when Western Michigan lost at Marshall, 19-14. The Broncos used 21 third quarter points to turn a 24-14 halftime lead into a comfortable lead and the eventual 55-35 final score.

Western Michigan quarterback Zach Terrell was 19-25 passing for 196 yards and three touchdowns, while running back Jamauri Bogan added 198 yards rushing and one touchdown.  Wide receiver Corey Davis had eight receptions for 81 yards and one touchdown and set the FBS all-time career receiving record with 5,068 career receiving yards.  Full Story...

KENT, Ohio -- Northern Illinois scored 17 points in a 7:14 stretch in the third and fourth quarters to defeat Kent State, 31-21, in the 2016 regular season finale Friday at Dix Stadium in Kent, Ohio. The win was NIU's fourth in its last five games as the Huskies finished the regular season with a 5-7 record and a 5-3 mark in Mid-American Conference play.  The Huskies played six games decided by a touchdown or less and NIU's three overtime games in 2016 were the most in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) and just one off the all-time record. BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- Fred Coppet ended his tenure at BGSU with a career-best 160 yards as the Bowling Green State University football team finished the 2016 season with a 27-19 victory over the Buffalo Bulls. The game was held Friday at Doyt Perry Stadium. The Falcons' victory was their third in a row and marks the team's first season-ending three-game win streak since 2001. For the third straight game, Bowling Green's rushing attack could not be stopped. The Falcons tallied 346 yards on 67 attempts and featured three backs with 100 or more yards for the second straight game. The team has 984 yards on the ground in the last three games – nearly as many (1,186) as they had in the first nine games.  Full Story...
