ATHENS, Ohio -- The Ohio Bobcats clinched the MAC East Division title with a 9-3 win over Akron on Tuesday night at Peden Stadium. With the win, Ohio finished with a 6-2 record in the MAC and earned the tiebreaker over Miami, who also finished with a 6-2 record, as the Bobcats defeated Miami earlier in the season. For Ohio it will mark its first trip to the Marathon MAC Football Championship Game since 2011. Ohio's Louie Zervos converted three field goals from 37, 23 and a career-long 49-yard field goal in the victory.

OXFORD, Ohio -- Facing a 10-point halftime deficit and its season on the line, the Miami University football team used a bundle of big plays on both sides of the ball to top Ball State University, 21-20, Tuesday evening at Yager Stadium. For the RedHawks (6-6, 6-2 MAC), the victory clinched a share of the Mid-American Conference East Division title and secured postseason eligibility. This is the first time the team has reached both these marks since its MAC championship in 2010. With the six-game winning streak to close the regular season, Miami becomes the first team in FBS history to finish the season at 6-6 following an 0-6 start.
Sophomore quarterback Gus Ragland was 26-of-35 for a career-high 380 yards and three touchdown passes. Senior wide receiver Rokeem Williamshauled in two of those touchdowns, finishing the game with six catches for 145 yards. The Miami offense finished with 442 total yards and held possession for just under 31 minutes.

YPSILANTI, Mich. -- The Eastern Michigan University football team capped off a historic regular season with a late come-from-behind victory over Central Michigan, today, Nov. 22, at Rynearson Stadium by a final tally of 26-21. With the victory, the Eagles (7-5, 4-4 MAC) finished a season with seven wins for the first time since 1989.
A number of notable accomplishments came with the game against the Chippewas (6-6, 3-5 MAC). To begin, redshirt freshman Paul Fricano broke the EMU record for successful PAT's in a season, picking up a pair today to bring his season total to 40. Additionally, the Green and White had 538 yards of offense, bringing their season total to 5,447, breaking the old record of 5,010 yards set in 2008. Finally, Head Coach Chris Creighton picked up his 10th win at EMU, becoming the 10th coach in program history to accomplish the feat.
