MT. PLEASANT, Mich. -- Kent State's Shane Hynes' 35-yard field goal as time ran out capped a string of 17 consecutive points that lifted Kent State to a 24-17 come-from-behind victory over Central Michigan on Saturday at Kelly/Shorts Stadium.
The Golden Flashes had not scored a game-winner with only zeros left on the clock since 2003 and Hynes had never experienced the thrill of celebrating a walk-off kick in his entire college and high school career. And yet, Hynes had a feeling Saturday would be his first.

YPSILANTI, Mich. -- Miami used a handful of running backs to rush for 230 yards in a 28-15 win at Eastern Michiga. Miami held Eastern Michigan to just 361 yards of total offense in the RedHawks third consecutive win after opening the season 0-6. Miami's three game win streak is the longest since winning six straight games to conclude the 2010 season.
Leading the way were Maurice Thomas (7-82), Kenny Young (4-58), Alonzo Smith (17-59) and Spencer McInnis (5-24) as Miami rushed for a season-high on the ground, helping to dominate the time of possession at 34:40.
