TOLEDO, Ohio -- Toledo junior wide receiver Cody Thompson caught four touchdown passes and the Rocket defense contained a dangerous Chippewa offense to help Toledo to a 31-17 victory over Central Michigan at the Glass Bowl Saturday afternoon. Toledo moves to 6-1, 3-0 in MAC play. Central Michigan fell to 5-3, 2-2 in conference games.
Thompson caught TD passes of 16, 16, 11 and 34 yards—all in the second half—from junior quarterback Logan Woodsideto account for all of the Rockets' 28 second-half points. Woodside completed 23-of-32 passes for 264 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions.

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- Ignited by career-best offensive performances and an opportunistic defense, Miami University’s football team topped Bowling Green State University, 40-26, Saturday afternoon at Doyt Perry Stadium. The 40 points from the RedHawks marks the most scored since a 56-49 victory at Akron on Sept. 29, 2012. Saturday’s win is also the first time since that Akron game that Miami has prevailed in back-to-back contests.
Miami sophomore quarterback Gus Ragland posted a career-high performance, going 22-of-35 for 215 yards and three touchdowns. Sophomore running back Kenny Young had a career day, rushing for 118 yards on eight carries, while fellow sophomore wide receiver James Gardner caught a career-high nine receptions for 120 yards. The Miami defense performed stoutly as well, forcing a Bowling Green safety and three fourth quarter interceptions.

MUNCIE, Ind. -- Akron junior quarterback Thomas Woodson returned to the starting line-up to help pull out a come-from-behind 35-25 win at Ball State on Saturday at Scheumann Stadium. The Zips improved to 5-3 overall and 3-1 in the MAC, while Ball State fell to 4-4 overall and 1-3 in the league. Woodson finished with two touchdowns on 27-of-40 throwing for 338 yards. Trailing 17-7 at halftime, Woodson guided the Zips to 21 unanswered points to open the second stanza.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- No. 20 ranked Western Michigan defeated Eastern Michigan, 45-31, to improve to 8-0 and 4-0 in the Mid-American Conference. The eight-straight wins matches the 1941 team's program record and the 2016 Broncos have a chance to write another chapter of history when they go for their ninth win on Nov. 1 at Ball State. Western Michigan senior quarterback Zach Terrell threw for a career-high 398 yards and senior wide receiver Carrington Thompson scored two touchdowns and amassed a career-high 177 yards receiving.
