Zips Take Down Youngstown State
AKRON, Ohio — The University of Akron women's tennis team finished the weekend strong with a 5-2 victory over Youngstown State on Saturday night at the LaTuchie Tennis Center. UA (3-0) took all three doubles matches against the Penguins while claiming the first four matches in singles play.

Zips Claim Two Wins At Home
AKRON, Ohio — The University of Akron women's tennis team earned two home victories in its season opening matches on Friday, downing Niagara 6-1 in the morning and IUPUI 7-0 in the afternoon. The Zips (2-0) swept all three matches in the morning doubles action against Niagara. In singles play, Akron won five of six matches against the Purple Eagles. Sophomores Sophia Geier (Burgebrach, Germany), Carli Knezevich (Austin, Texas) and Waverly Wituski (Springboro, Ohio) each recorded singles wins along with junior Karalina Maksimava (Mogilev, Belarus) and freshman Luisa Echeverry (Cali, Columbia).

South Bend, Ind. - The Bowling Green State University women's tennis team traveled to South Bend, Ind. to take on the University of Notre Dame. The Falcons fell to the No. 33-ranked Fighting Irish 7-0 at Eck Tennis Pavilion Sunday evening.

Buffalo Downs Bryant and UConn To Cap Off Weekend
STORRS, CT – The University at Buffalo, The State University of New York women's tennis team completed a stellar weekend on Sunday afternoon with a 5-0 win over Bryant and a 4-1 victory over the host UConn Huskies. The weekend format was played as a 4:1 meaning that each match had four singles matches and one doubles contest. The Bulls opened competition on Sunday by winning all five matches against Bryant, a team that won their conference last season. Sophomore Tanja Stojanovska and freshman Chantal Martinez Blanco won their doubles contest, 6-2, 6-3, while the Bulls also claimed all four singles matches.

LINCOLN, Neb. – After falling Friday, Jan. 29, the Eastern Michigan University tennis team flipped the script and was able to knock off the United States Air Force Academy, 5-2, Saturday, Jan. 30, in Lincoln, Neb. The Eagles (2-3) won the doubles point before taking four of the singles matches.

Eagles Drop 5-2 Decision At Nebraska
LINCOLN, Neb. -- Eastern Michigan's tennis team dropped its match Friday afternoon with the University of Nebraska, 5-2, on the road, Jan. 29. The Eagles (1-3) were able to pick up a pair of singles victories against the Cornhuskers (2-0). In doubles action, the No. 1 and 2 doubles teams from Nebraska defeated the Eagles, 6-4, 6-3. In singles play, Ani Gogvadze came out to defeat Katerina Matysova, 7-5, 6-4, in the No. 4 spot, while Renu Sharma knocked off McKenna Maddox-Herr in three sets, 4-6, 6-3, 6-3.

RedHawks Pick Up First Victory
RICHMOND, Ky. – Miami University’s women’s tennis team used a doubles sweep and quick singles victories to earn its first victory of the season, defeating Eastern Kentucky University, 5-2, Friday morning at the Greg Adams Tennis Center. The RedHawks (1-1) quickly grabbed the opening doubles point as they swept the Colonels (0-1) in their season-opening match. Senior Ana Rajkovic and junior Andreea Badileanu defeated Viktorija Demcenkova and Margaux Lacroix, 6-1, followed by a 6-4 victory by the pair of sophomore Hannah Shteyn and freshman Anzhelika Shapovalova. The doubles competition concluded with the MAC Doubles Team of the Week of sophomores Nelli Ponomareva and Anastasiia Vasiukhina picking up their third consecutive win, 6-3, over Laura Argente and Racquel Montalvo.

Huskies Drop Battle at Bradley
PEORIA, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University women’s tennis team was unable to extend its winning streak to three matches as the Huskies dropped a 4-3 decision at Bradley on Saturday morning. The Huskies (2-2) won the doubles point and the top two singles matches but couldn’t get the crucial fourth team point as the Braves (1-2) won the third, fourth, fifth and sixth singles contests to secure the overall victory in the dual.

Morgantown, WV - The University of Toledo women's tennis team lost a dual-match to West Virginia, 6-1, in Morgantown, WV on Friday afternoon. Toledo's sole victory came from sophomore Megan Miller (Sylvania, OH), who bested Carolina Lewis at No. 4 singles, 6-2, 2-6, 12-10.

Broncos Split Pair Of Dual Matches
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The Western Michigan women's tennis team split a pair of dual matches at the University of Tennessee Saturday afternoon. First the Broncos topped UT-Martin 7-0 and then fell to No. 62 Tennessee 7-0 later. The Broncos moved to 4-2 this season with both losses coming against nationally ranked opponents. The Skyhawks dropped to 0-2 and the Volunteers moved to 2-1.
